If your addicted to Mock Drafts like I am, I hope you enjoy the second version of mine. I had more minutes to spare this time around and as a result, I dropped my notes as well.
1 Miami Long, Chris DE, Virginia
Nice ploy to negotiate with Jake Long by Parcells who is once again shopping for the groceries. I'm not buying it. Chris Long is exactly the kind of player he loves. Al Groh has been in his ear.
2 St. Louis Long, Jake OT, Michigan
The phone lines of the Rams will burn in NYC with offers of a trade. The Rams say no and wisely so. The Rams help Marc Bulger save a bundle on his life insurance.
3 Atlanta Dorsey, Glenn DT, LSU
Great teams have that big mass in the middle that takes up space. This clog gets a nice push as well. If Jake Long falls to them, it will have a ripple effect on spots #4-6 of the draft.
4 Oakland McFadden, Darren RB, Arkansas
When has Al Davis ever listened to reason? Al knows Los Angeles is now up for grabs so he will be sure to snatch up the Mr. Hollywood of the Draft.
5 Kansas City Ryan, Matt QB, Boston College
This is a tough pick to predict. Who knows which way the Chiefs will go? If Jared Allen goes, Vernon Gholston could be selected and Herm would one up the Jets.
6 New York Gholston, Vernon DE, Ohio Stat
If Gholston or McFadden are not there, neither are the Jets. Look for a trade down with Dallas. The recent lack of cap leads me to believe that the Jets are prime to trade down.
7 New England Ellis, Sedrick DT, Southern Cal
Everyone is assuming that the Patriots will pick a CB to replace Samuel. I've seen Samuel play and phenomenal he is not. I will be one of the few to go against the grain and say DT.
8 Baltimore Clady, Ryan OT, Boise State
I am in the opinion that today's retirement of Steve "Air" McNair will do nothing to alter their draft day plans. If Ryan is there, they will grab him. If not, an OT would make sense and would benefit from the tutelage of Jonathn Ogden. Troy Smith may have a hand in this yet.
9 Cincinnati Ellis, McKelvin, Leodis CB, Troy
This is a tough prediction due to the uncertainty surrounding Keyshawn Johnson's bigger-mouthed cousin. Ocho-Cinco to Dallas could spell "Doomsday" for the rest of the league but logic says he stays put and he's not logical.
10 New Orleans Rivers, Keith OLB, Southern Cal
A re-vamping of the Saints LB corps is just what the Loomis ordered. Jonathan Vilma could very well turn out to be the steal of the off-season. Now the Saints will have two tackling machines.
11 Buffalo Thomas, Devin WR, Michigan State
I heard alot from Bills fans whom are doing their best impresion of Eagles fans. "Draft a WR!!!" The Bills get baby-Plax.
previous pick: Rodgers-Cromartie, D. CB, Tennessee State
12 Denver Williams, Chris OT, Vanderbilt
OT is the obvious need for this team in flux. This was a tough pick until Jay Cutler stepped up like a man and took control of his team. His former college teammate now joins him in Denver.
13 Carolina Otah, Jeff OT, Pittsburgh
Long in need of some new blood on the OL, Otah joins last year's 2nd Round pick C Ryan Calil. My experiences have led me to conclude that Pitt produces some greats: Dan Marino, Tony Dorsett, Mike Ditka, Larry Fitzgerald, Darelle Revis and now Otah.
14 Chicago Mendenhall, Rashard RB, Illinois
This homegrown talent will help erase Cedric Benson and ease the hurt of Bears fans. Many have Mendenhall pegged as the next Marshawn Lynch.
15 Detroit Rodgers-Cromartie, D. CB, Tennessee State
People ask me why I thought that Matt Millen wanted to take another WR in the first round. I replied, "He's Matt Millen and that's what his track record suggests." No matter what happens, I won't be surprised.
previous pick: Jackson, DeSean WR, California
16 Arizona Jones, Felix RB, Arkansas
The fact that Arizona was 29 in rushing last year is just too low to ignore. However, if I had gun to my head I could foresee Arizona making a move in either direction of the first-round.
previous pick: Talib, Aqib CB, Kansas
17 ***Minnesota Harvey, Derrick DE, Florida
Now that Jared Allen's supposedly visiting the Vikings, hold everything!!! A move of this caliber on a team like that and sends their draft plans completely. The Vikings could then go and draft a big receiver to pair with Berriman. If Allen is a Vike and doesn't take them, the Vikings could be going places...like the SuperBowl.
18 Houston Albert, Branden OG, Virginia
This guy is sky-rocketing up alot of boards and for good reason. A great offensive-lineman is hard to find. For this reason alone, I hope the Giants pay Chris Snee.
19 Philadelphia Jackson, DeSean WR, California
The Eagles haven't had a great receiver since T.O. did sit-ups in South Jersey. Andy Reid can't survive another season of not reaching the play-offs and for the Eagles to do otherwise they need a player to compliment Curtis and the most-underrated player in the NFL, Brian Westbrook.
previous pick: Thomas, Devin WR, Michigan State
20 Tampa Bay Sweed, Limas WR, Texas
The Cowboys and Titans hope he falls but he won't. Tampa needs another WR to got to besides one-year wonder Michael Clayton and the age-less Joey Galloway. A QB will be addressed in the 2nd Round.
21 Washington Phillips, Kenny S, Miami FL
Sinorice Moss and Chris Cooley can't do it all themselves. Hopefully Vinny Cerrato advised Dan Snyder to consider their lack of a play-maker. Chances are Cerrato and Snyder are both wrong. Randle El is good, not great.
previous pick: Hardy, James WR, Indiana
22 Dallas Jenkins, Mike CB, South Florida
If the Cowboys pick up Pacman. Forget my pick. Jenkins falls to the Cowboys, who barring a trade will go WR + CB if their players are still on the board. Aqib Talib could also be picked at 22 but not according to the web-site: http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/story/2008/3/20/163651/689
previous pick: Jones, Felix RB, Arkansas
23 Pittsburgh Gosder, Cherilus OT, Boston College
Steeler fans will gripe at whomever I choose, so I'll just use my 7 Iron to punch out.
previous pick: Stewart, Jonathan RB, Oregon/Groves, Quentin OLB, Auburn
24 Tennessee Balmer, Kentwan DT, North Carolina
No matter how you slice and dice it, the Titans need both a WR and some help on the D-Line. Albert Haynesworth's voice is heard over Vince Young's.
25 Seattle Keller, Dustin TE, Purdue
There are two good TE's in this draft. Here Purdue wins out over SC. The Seahawks need to have good hands for Hasselbeck. Pollard was exposed in the play-offs.
previous pick: Jenkins, Mike CB, South Florida
26 Jacksonville Merling, Phillip DE, Clemson
The Jaguars continue to chop wood and copying the Giants formula sounds like a pretty good prototype.
previous pick: Campbell, Calais DE, Miami
27 San Diego Campbell, Calais DE, Miami
A great DE on a bad college team. Should excel on a decent defense while paired with Castillo.
previous pick: Balmer, Kentwan DT, North Carolina
28 Dallas Hardy, James WR, Indiana
Dallas gets a WR and this one is the play-maker they desperately need. Clayton's drop against the Giants cemented WR as a need. The last thing the Boys want is another crier/cryer.
previous pick: King, Justin CB, Penn State
29 San Francisco Connor, Dan ILB, Penn State
What a pair Connor and Patrick Willis will be. These two will act as two white sharks patrolling Santa Cruz for the next decade. San Fran's big off-season last year had a minimal effect at best. Ray Rice wil be picked in the 2nd Round to be paired with Frank Gore.
30 Green Bay Talib, Aqib CB, Kansas
Talib slips and the Packers benefit. Up in smoke literally, Talib hopes fans remember him as well as they do slipper and toker Warren Sapp.
previous pick: Merling, Phillip DE, Clemson
31. New York Cason, Antoine CB, Arizona
The Giants get the guy they've wanted all along to replace Sam Madison. The plethora of LB's remaining allows the Giants unheard of flexibiltity in the last spot of the first round.
Go G-Men!
NBA Playoffs: Week 3

The highlighting is annoying. Also it's Crayton not Clayton and one drop hardly turns a position into a need. It's the age that causes WR to be an issue, not one dropped pass. Although, Crayton did have a terrible game.

Report Offensive CommentA couple points of critique, since everyone seems to have an opinion:
-Why would Cincinnati go for another CB? Your #9 pick needs to be rethought.
-Regarding Ellis again, New England is most likely bluffing on this. They have Wilfork, who is a much better fit for their system. Ellis is too short to fit the hybrid 3-4 NE employs.
-Calais Campbell to SD at 27 is certainly an awful pick. SD plays a 3-4. He's 6'8", and a pure pass rusher.
-I don't think Arizona will pick up another RB with their #1 pick; I see taking a CB as priority for them.

Report Offensive CommentDamn I wanted the Giants to draft Antoine Cason too. They got Phillips and I'm feeling a lot better about his talent these days.
