One of the sports top drivers has accused NASCAR of manipulating the outcomes of races. Stewart even went as far as to liken the sport to the WWE, how true can this be?
I am not going to elaborate or give opinions, just points to ponder:
- 1. The Lowes car seems to win every race at Lowes Motor Speedway barring bad luck.
- 2. Every year at Chicagoland in the USGW Sheetrock 400 Matt Kenseth drives the USGW Sheetrock car. He is the fastest car by a long shot every year and barring bad luck wins.
- 3. Kurt Bush has won the Sharpie 500 at Bristol every time he has driven the Sharpie car in the race. Without the Sharpie car he has been virtually uncompetitive at the track.
- 4. Early in his career its very simple, Dale Jr had a smaller restrictor plate at Daytona and Talladega. He made last lap passes on the outside with no drafting help. That isn't possible unless you have 100 extra horsepower.
- 5. Pablo wins the Mexico Race the first trip. Im guessing he has another coming this weekend.
- 6. JR won the Pepsi 400 at Daytona and the Fireworks promptly went off making the #8?
- 7. Rusty Wallace won every MGD sponsored race he ever drove (too bad for Kahne and Bush beer doesn't do it anymore).
So lets go to this year. Gordon is done. He has a supermodel wife and a child. He can no longer be the Golden boy when he's looking at moving on. Dale Jr simply hasn't been able to compete even in a fixed game; he creates too much bad luck for himself. Kahne is stuck with Evernham who no longer cares so he's out. Matt and Jimmy simply aren't popular. So what do we do?
Wow, we script a classic Good VS Evil, Cousin Carl vs Peewee Kyle Bush.
Seriously, this sport is not real.

I love Nascar, but this is one of the "fixing" conspiracies I could buy into. What about all those late race "cautions" last season?

Report Offensive CommentNASCAR is the sport where they catch cheaters all the time.
But WWE? No. To many sponsers and $$ involved to get everyone to cooperate on fixing a race.

Report Offensive CommentCopied from a TD, thought it would be appropriate here.
1. JJ hasn't won in the Lowes car at Charlotte consistently at all over the last few races, including a 39th place finish Sunday night. In addition, the Lowes car had ZERO success before JJ got behind the wheel.
2. Kenseth is hardly the man to beat at Chicago. Clearly you don't watch the races there, just the highlights of one of the best drivers in NASCAR today.
3. Kurt Busch won his first race at Bristol in the Miller car. And he drove the Sharpie car at Bristol without success prior to his first win there.
4. I don't know which races you were watching, but Jr's passes "alone" were with Tony Stewart or Michael Waltrip tucked to his rear bumper. You have ZERO evidence of smaller plates or extra horsepower. And again, if there is a conspiracy, why hasn't NASCAR "let" its most popular driver win in over 2 years?
5. JPM is COLUMBIAN, not Mexican. Wouldn't it be better to "let" Adrian Fernandez win in Mexico?
6. I can't dispute this because I don't know what you are talking about. Might I suggest that either a. you saw an 8 that wasn't actually there, or b. using sophisticated technology, they were able to put a number in at the last second?
7. Again, I don't have specific information, but did you ever think that having a home sponsor might entice the team to work harder?
And Kahne is out? An All-Star win, and a 600 win, plus a top 12 points position, say differently. Matt and Jimmy are EXTREMELY popular, and JG can still compete. Again, you're clearly not watching the same races I am. And that includes the Indy 500.

um, no

Report Offensive CommentWell said, Frank. You articulate an excellent counter argument.
But I can understand your confusion, so let me clarify that point.
The first time he raced at Bristol in the Miller car, Kurt Busch won the race. Prior to his first win at Bristol in the Sharpie car, he had little to no success there.

that makes no since, he won there 4 times in the sharpie car before he ever seen a miller car
Frank Pentangelli Shot Lance | 06/10/08, 01:58 PM
Report Offensive CommentOK, I'll try again. Prior to his first win at Bristol (which was his first win), Kurt had little to no success there. He then went on a tear, winning races at Bristol in the Sharpie car. He then moved to the Miller car, and the first time he raced at Bristol in the Miller car, he won.
Clear enough for you?

Report Offensive CommentSo what would happen if someone who's suppose to win blows an engine or cuts a tire and wrecks? Your theory is ridiculous because if it were true, Dale Jr would have at least two championships right now
