Stud: An exceptionally talented athlete.
Dud: One that is dsiappointingly ineffective and unsuccessful.
It's time to define the studs from the duds so far this season. Here are some possible choices. Remember, study hard, there will be a quiz this week!
Baseball Time! That's right, the MLB season is now underway and I am having a sensational time! Who are some early stars, and who are the disappointments:
STUDS: For one, I gotta go with Nate McLouth. He's hitting .380 with 3 homers and 15 RBIs. This kid is a future star, I can feel it.
Another one is Chipper Jones. Ol' Chipper has been red-hot as of late, hitting a fantastic .455 with 6 home runs and 18 runs batted in. He's had two straight multi-homer games.
How about Ben Sheets? He's pitched phenomenally this year, with an NL-best 0.96 ERA and 3 wins. He's also got a complete-game gem to his name already this season. Boy, am I glad to have this guy on my fantasy team!
DUDS: These are guys who were expected to do great, but have come up really short. Who?
Robinson Cano is one of these guys. He's hitting a paltry .171 with just one home run and 5 RBIs. He's got only 11 hits in 66 at bats. Ouch.
How about C.C. Sabathia? Expected to get even better after his Cy Young performance from last season, C.C. is now sitting at 0-3 and has the league's worst ERA among starters, 13.50. He's surrendered 32 hits in 18 innings, and his once pinpoint control has gone wild, with 14 walks compared to 14 strikeouts. WOW.
Oh, and don't forget Andruw Jones. Jones got a big contract with the Dodgers and was expected to produce with the change of scenery. After all, he's only 30, still in his prime. RIGHT. Jones has hit a pathetic .167 with ZERO home runs and 2 RBIs. Disgusting.

McLouth has been caught stealing four times this year. However, none of those times were by the catcher.
