All it took was a strained right hamstring.A STRAINED RIGHT HAMSTRING!
Tom Glavine was put on the DL for the first time in his 22 season career.FIRST TIME!Sorry for all the caps but this is amazing. This is an incredible feat,I think this should be talked with some of the best accomplishments in a few years.
The stress that is put on an MLB pitcher's arm is just unbelievably high,I can't possibly understand throwing 90 pitches, with the same arm,as hard as I can,for 22 years.
A lot of credit here, should go to Leo Mazzone, the great pitching coach of Glavine's in Atlanta. Some people tend to forget how good he was since he went to Baltimore. The rigorous training program he puts hurt players through has really helped Glavine, rather than rest the pitcher,Mazzone has his pitcures throw more to strenghten their arms while they're hurt.
22 seasons,over 300 wins,2 Cy Youngs,and one stint on the DL,amazing.
