By the time the final horn sounded, the city of Cleveland was rocking as their Cavs just defeated the Detroit Pistons 98-80 to earn the franchise's first ever NBA Finals appearance.

After only a one point lead going into the fourth quarter, Cleveland steamrolled the Motor City Men in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Without the scoring of LeBron James.

King James did finish with 20 points and 14 rebounds, but he shot a lowly 2/10 from the field. In Game 6's win the hero was rookie Daniel Gibson who finished with 31 points (19 in the fourth). More impressive were the five 3 pointers Gibson buried to put the game away.

Even with the very deserving win by the Cleveland Cavaliers I still some issues I thought I would talk about.

1. This is the NBA. These are grown men so by all means lay off the nonstop touch fouls constantly being whistled for. This was especially true as the Cavs pulled away. The referees did not need to be doing that. Cleveland could of beaten Detroit without that little assistance.

2. 99.9% of the time he has been ejected, Rasheed Wallace's actions have been flat out stupid, but I can say I can see where he was coming from tonight. In less than 2 minutes Rasheed Wallace had the silliest, most childish fouls called on him. We all know he has a temper problem so when that happened that was just enough for him to blow his top. Still losing his cool should of been prevented, but it can be somewhat understood.

Note: The biggest thing that Wallace's ejection signified was that he had basically given up. Emotionally that was huge for the rest of the Detroit team. There was still plenty of time left for DET to pull themselves together, but with him, a veteran losing his cool, he was basically throwing in the towel. Surprising that Wallace had that sort of mentality.

3. Hate to be the one who first says it, but at times it looked like LeBron was getting the "Michael Jordan Referee Treatment." I can not stand the thought of that. It makes the games unwatchable. I hope it ceases to exist. (Fat chance on that.)

4. I was shocked how once Wallace got ejected the Pistons just fell over and died. That was pathetic. The team shot around 20% in the fourth quarter. You can not say anything to that. Overall, it is discouraging to see an emotionally, solid team like the Pistons run home with their tails between their legs.

5. Tayshaun Prince what happened man? Prince, a marquee defender for Detroit, had a series I am sure he hopes to forget about. Prince shot about 16% from the field! That's making one out of every six shots! You kidding me, your in the NBA? Look for the young star to use that poor performance for a lot of motivation come next season.

6. Where do the Pistons go from here? Flip Saunders never had much luck in Minnesota come playoff time, now back-to-back years his Pistons have lost in the Eastern Conference Finals. The heat will definitely be on Flipper this offseason.

Also, Chauncey Billups is a free-agent. Billups has played for Boston, Toronto, Denver, and Minnesota, yet being in Detroit has been his best fit. I am thinking Billups wants to be a Piston for life. Hopefully Joe Dumars notices this.

6. Do the Cavs have a shot against the Spurs? Yes they do. Why? 1975 the Golden State Warriors were huge underdogs to the Washington Bullets, yet they swept them behind Rick Barry's incredible play. Matching the two teams up, Cleveland is not nearly as big of an underdog as the Warriors were back in 1975. Do I think they will beat San Antonio? No. For one, Tim Duncan is going to be too much to handle. I think Cleveland can control Ginobili, but Tony Parker is incredibly quick.

Bottom line: Even with Gibson's awesome Game 6, Cleveland still tends to rely on LeBron too much, but in San Antonio you have Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili who as we all know can get hot.

Oh and then there is that thuggish defender Bruce Bowen who will give LeBron his share of problems.

Result: Duncan will be getting his fourth ring (and MVP) when the Spurs win in 5 games.

We are all Witnesses to the changing of the guard and the evolution of the NBA. The new breed of athlete is taking over. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are the most underrated team in the League. Everybody looked past them and are now looking at them from behind them. What a more fitting way to pass the torch than to snatch the title from the old school Detroit Pistons and the boring San Antonio Spurs. Will it be Easy? No, Is it Possible? Yes. This is going to be one of the highest rated NBA Finals in history. Cavs in 7 at San Antonio. Now it is time for the Cavaliers to Raise Up!! and fulfill the destiny they have had to Rise Up! from. Go Cavs!!

Can I hear this lame line one last time:

D E T R O I T B A S K E T B A L L !!

Where is Mr. Big Shot, Rip, The Prince, C-Webb, Sheed and the Dice Man now.

They All Bow down to the King and so will the rest.

Tim Duncan and the boys might want to get fitted for knee pads to cushion the blow.

Sincerely Yours,

A Devoted Witness
