A shame that after only 1 season in Boston, Mike Lowell has chosen to sink to the gutter ball level of the rest of the Red Sox's. While his play on Cano was suspect, he was entitled to attempt to break up the DP since Cano was in the his running path, to level Doug M. to try to knock the ball out of his glove was pretty low.
He had already hit the bag and perhaps could have veered slightly to the side to avoid the worst of the collision, but it was more important to take another cheap shot at the Yankees and get an insurance run home than to play like a professional. Par for the course for the whiners from Beantown. I suspect they all wear Depends diapers under their uniforms as the cry so much, when other teams do to them what they take pride in doing.
The umpires took away the inside part of the plate yesterday from NY, which Torre unwisely chose to accept, after the big Yook's crying jag on Friday night. Amazing how when Boston hits opposing batters at will, it is always issues of their control or a pitch getting away from them, never a strategy to take an opponent out of his game. Usually the Yankees chose to ignore the HBP, so it was nice to see Proctor rise up and protect his teamates on Friday night. It is a shame that Torre has chosen to give up on the season with his questionable pitching decisions, his continuing to baby Bobby "Is that another nude photo of my girlfriend" Abreu and inability to put any fire into this old Yankee team.
Then to see the classless displays put on by the Bosox only rubs salt into the wounds of this season. Wonder how many batters before Josh Beckett suddenly loses control on an inside pitch to Jeter or Posada tonight?
Give the Bosox credit for realizing they have baseball right were the want them right now and will be able to do just about anything on the field. Yankee teams of other years may have responded with some fight and determination after the whining of Boston on Friday night, this team, taking a cue from their manager chose to sleepwalk through another wasted day game at Fenway. I think Lowell did the Yankees a favor in the 7th as laying out Doug forced Joe to wake up from his nap and trot out on the field to see what happen. Just remember Mike if this year you end up with the ball after the last out of the World Series, make sure John Henry gets it so we don't have to hear more crying and whining during the celebrations in Beantown.
Whoever said there is no crying in baseball, obviously never spent any time in Boston.

"Psst...hey Joe...wake up...I tink yer gold glove shortstop made a lousy trow and made Doug vulnerable to contact...stop sleepin' and charge after Lowell and trow 'im outta league..."
If you think Eye Chart was hurt deliberately on that play, you are the one who is doing the crying, my friend.

First of all, how do you even know I like the Red Sox to begin with? And more importantly to what happened on the field, had the throw to Mientkiewicz been more on the money, he is out of harm's way, and that would never have had to happen in the first place.
Really now. Do you actually think that Mike Lowell would have devised a plan to somehow get back at getting hit on the wrist the previous night?
The perfect method for some concocted form of revenge is to deliberately try and take someone's head off his body?
That makes absolutely no sense. Not even A.J. Pierzynski, himself, would resort to such nonsense...
