     I just took a look at the poll I have on this blog site. You know, the one that says "How will the Capitals season end??" Anyway, I noticed it was split two ways: either they win the Stanley Cup, or make it at least to the second round. That tells me this--only two people voted, and I might be one of those two.

     I think I voted for the second round.

     I'd love to know who the other vote was.

     Point I'm making is, I was being an optimist when I said we'd be looking at the second round. After tonight, you can call me a goddamned prophet.

     It's simple as this: win, and we get what the NHL always wanted...Alex vs. Sid. And here's the thing--Penguin fans are cheering us on. It won't surprise me in the least if we get the Montreal crowd doing the same thing tonight. Only now, I've discovered we have a new member to this group (which brings us to 13; 12 if you don't count yours truly).

     I said this place would be downright popular, once everyone saw what I've been honored to see these last 5 months. Oh, ****, who am I kidding?? This is the ONLY Caps blog on here; THAT'S why the increase. The real test comes, the moment the Caps' season ends. Membership falls into single-digit country, my point is proven.

     At any rate, the game is less than 45 minutes away. One LAST miracle left in the tank for the Caps. Regardless of how this game turns out, this season will never be branded a failure. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
