My blog and hornets in the playoffs

Hey hornets fans this is HornetsUK here, you're main man for a British perspective on the game we all love, so welcome to my blog basically this is gonna be just where am gonna stick down my thoughts on the games this postseason along with some other musings about the nba and life in general and hopefully be able to find some links to some other good stories on the net, plus every now and again there will be guest blogs for cavs fans out there from my good friend gav....now down to business.

  •  So the first two games from what i heard on the radio and the bits of the games i've managed to catch over here, the main keys to the hornets dominance in 1 and a half of the two games so far has been our good defensive rotations and well-handled mismatches on the defensive side of the ball, and on offensive i'm lovin the ball movement we've had especially last night were the mavs slept on mo-pete a little and he popped up into double figures, and hustle for offensive boards mostly from TC and hilton.

  • I don't know about anyone else but i just have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that these mavs ain't gettin back up off the mat if they take one more knock which is why the hornets need to come out strong for the first half in dallas cos i think that could be end-game if we do.
  • Anybody got any thoughs on who we're gonna be taking in the draft this year, NBA draft.net has us down to take mario chalmers from Kansas who i guess would be a 3rd or 4th string point for us, so i don't think that one will go down....hoopshype gives us Courtney Lee he's ok but he's slid down to mid-late 2nd round pick now...CollegeHoops.net has us going with Donte Greene who i think is probably a good bet because he's a swingman so would fill a hole in the rotation behind Peja Stojakovic so it would enable more rest for the aging veteran he's a little like a Marvin Williams/Rashard Lewis/DerMarr Johnson sorta and he's a tall and long at 6'10 or even 6'11 and roughly 220 to 230lbs so could be used as a back-up to West also which would allow JuJu to slide across to his more natural position at the 3 in a full bench lineup with pargo at the 1, bonzi-2, JuJu-3, Greene-4, Hilton-5 which i think would probably be able to hold it's own and it would allow the development of JuJu, Greene and the still continuing development of hilton armstrong.....mynbadraft.com has us taking Courtney Lee aswell but it also has Darrell Arthur and Kosta Koufos falling around our draft spot whom would both be good fits for the same reason as Greene, but i think that Greene would be the best piece to fit in to out system, also draftexpress has us taking Robin Lopez who is another good guy because that would allow the rotation mentioned above with Hilton moving to the 4 and Robin Lopez could go to the 5 and he has great shot-blocking ability.

So that's it for my first blog here on FanNation hope you managed to struggle through it...so goodbye and good luck to the Hornets for the upcoming playoff games my next post will probably be after the hornets game on Friday so like middle of Friday like 4 am for you guys til then kick back relax and enjoy the sweet sound of that swishing sound of the hornets rushing past the mavs in 4 to the conference semis.
