Didn't do too bad in round one..., lost 2 series but, I can be wrong. (Didn't expect Anaheim to go down and Philadelphia-Washington was too close to call). Now..., round two.
Montreal vs Philadelphia - could be the best series of the four remaining... both teams have good offense..., MTL with the Kostitsyn's and Kovalev, PHI with Briere, Lupul and Richards. MTL's defense is better than Philadelphia's in my books and the PP without Souray is still better than the Flyers. That being said, goaltending tells the tale and I'd take Price over Biron anyday. Still..., it's going to be a long series.
Montreal in six
Pittsburgh vs New York Rangers - Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, Malone..., Jagr, Shanahan, Drury, Gomez. Would love to see those players go 4 on 4. While I like the experience the Rangers have, especially in the playoffs, the younger wheels go to the Pens. And while Lundqvist is a Vezina candidate this year, I like Fleury to take control of the series..., another long one, something Pittsburgh isn't used to.
Pittsburgh in seven
Detroit vs Colorado - I loved watching the old Detroit-Colorado rivarly in the '90's and this shouldn't be any different. Detroit's finally got the go to guy in net in Osgood and Theodore's been showing that old Hart Trophy form lately. And with Forsberg, Sakic, Smyth, Foote and Stastny, Colorado's offense and defense should test the Wings. On the other side, Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Zetterberg and Rafalski, along with Draper and Chelios, Detroit shouldn't have a problem matching Colorado's offense and defense. I like Detroit in this series though..., Osgood's the man right now.
Detroit in seven
Dallas vs San Jose - I took San Jose to beat the Flames and they came through, thanks to JR's four points last night. Kind of underestimated Dallas..., didn't think Turco would show and the offense to catch fire like they did versus the Ducks! Still, this is going to be a war and if San Jose wants to win this, Nabokov has to play like he did last night. I think Thornton and the Sharks can shut down Richards and the Stars but, it'll take a game or two.
Sharks in seven
I like the Penguins-Canadiens in the East, Detroit-San Jose in the West and for the finals..., Pittsburgh versus San Jose. I've been wrong before though..., see Dallas-Anaheim! Anyway, it's just another long three weeks or so until the finals so, we'll see what happens!
