The Milwaukee Bucks hired Scott Skiles to be their head coach. As a Bucks fan do I like it? Not so much.

I think the four year contract he got is a bit too long. He's really not a guy who should stay in one place for too long. Two years max for him..and then there's that potential for things to head south. I do like the fact that he'll bring some defensive mindedness to a team who played little if any defense. I think this Bucks team is goind to look a lot different next year.

To me it's less about Skiles and more about the roster he's going to have to work with. I think we could be a playoff team if a few changes are made. First change I would make is I would trade Moe Williams..I dont care if you only get a sack of potatoes and a bi-weekly visit from Phil Jackson's grandma for him. Just send him to someone..anyone. Towards the end of last year I was highly impressed with Ramon Sessions..I think he could turn into a number one point guard.

Another trade that needs to be made is getting rid of Bobby Simmons. He clearly hasn't lived up to that 50 million dollar contract, I don't think he ever will. So we should just cut our losses and send him somewhere. I think Desmond Mason did a nice job of doing exactly what I thought we needed from our small forward spot. This Bucks team needs more players like Desmond Mason...guys who will drive and slash. This team is a strictly jump shooting team..and that needs to change to get us in the playoffs.

Also, we need to get better inside play. Charlie Villanueva and Yi aren't really getting it done up there helping Andrew Bogut. Bogut is doing a nice job, he just needs some help. Dan Gadzuric is alright, but, I think he really needs to take several steps forward especially defensively. I think Yi is going to get bigger after spending more time in an NBA weight program..but I don't think we have that kind of time.

My final thoughts on the hiring..is it could be a solid hiring, depending how willing the guys on the roster are willing to get good defensively.
