Game one of the 2007 NBA finals will be played Thursday night between the San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers. This is a very interesting matchup because its a one-man show (Cavs) against a classic "team" (Spurs). San Antonio will be sending Tony Parker, Bruce Bowen, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobli to stop the Cavs' LeBron James, Zydrunas Illgauskas, Drew Gooden, and Larry Hughes. Bruce Bowen is a defensive minded player much like the Pistons Tayshaun Prince. I thought Prince could slow down James, so I guess that means Bowen won't be stopping LeBron. Tony Parker is a better PG than Hughes, but Hughes may be a better offensive players. Tim Duncan will be battling Z and Gooden down low and I see that playing out pretty evenly. So, who is Cleveland's answer to Manu? Daniel Gibson? I don't think so. The sharp-shooting rookie will fold in the Finals. Manu's ability to shoot and get to the basket will be the difference in the series, becuase Cleveland doesn't have anyone to defend him or anyong to make up his production offensively, the Spurs win the Finals.
The Pick: San Antonio in 6, Finals MVP: Ginobli.
