Matt Cain is still learning things about pitching and control. He has had a couple of bad outings and a couple good ones, but try as he might, the bad luck he gets is very depressing. In his last outing, Cain went up against Maddux and the San Diego Padres. What happened? Cain gave up 1 run in 7 innings, striking out 7. And true to form, the Giants gave him 0 run support. It took a HR by Benji Molina in the bottom of the 9th to avoid Cain going 0-3 The Giants just DON'T SCORE when Cain is in the game.
Lincecum on the other hand, is doing very well and getting just enough run support and bullpen pitching. He took his record to 4-0 last night and has a 1.23 era. His pitches are wicked and batters look like little kids up there. Ine one inning last night the Padres managed to get two runners on with 2 outs and the next batter, a former multiple 30+ HR hitter tried to BUNT in a run!!! How retarded is that? Clearly, batters respect this young kind who stands about 5'9", over a FOOT shorter than Christ Young who he faced last night. Lincecum has pitched 29 innings and struck out 36, leading ALL Major Leaguers!! He has 4 more than Santana in fewer innings and 7 more than Jake Peavy, in fewer Innings.
Trust me, even if you are not a Giants fan, take an opprotunity to watch Tim Lincecum pitch sometime, mayeb when the Giants come to town. It WILL be worth your while. This kid COULD be great, for many years to come....

You got a fantastic 1-2 punch in those two guys. Too bad you also got no offense, not a great pen, and Barry Zito. lol

Report Offensive Commentits tough. You cant trade him because no one will want to pay his salary. Then again you cant keep him in the rotation because he is doing so bad. Plus, the Giants have more young pitchers that need to get in there.
Btw, Matt Cain is amazing. He could easily be the no2 pitcher on redsox if not no1. Too bad giants wont help him out offensively.
