27 Million reasons were not enough for Donovan -
In my humble opinion this is a grave mistake being made by Donavon. While Florida is a great University and any coach would love to be able to control a team there, the Magic area a up and coming team. Being able to walk into a job were you already have a playoff team is next to heaven for any NBA coach. Not only did the make the playoffs, they have Dwight Howard. Need I say more? They have a very up and coming team, they have room in there salary cap to go after some players and they are not affraid to spend money. ($27 million to Billy) As a coach making the jump from college to the NBA it is very hard to find a position were you have a young team, dominate big man, great city and an orgainazition that is commitd to winning. I just dont understand why he is backing out. I think that he could solidify his coaching rep by making this move and only being somewhat successful with the Magic. I guess if 27 million and the beast Dwight Howard is not enough nothing will be.

He is backing out because the temporary lure of money and NBA prestige couldnt outweigh the guilty conscience he must of had for leaving what is obviously Donavan's heaven-Gator basketball. Dont think thats true? His best players graduated so he isnt returning to any type of safety net of a semi-guaranteed Final Four appearance any time soon. Its all about loyalty, and he almost misplaced it in the face of the blur of dollar signs.
