Well, they took Ryan.  I don't like it.  I may be wrong.  The NFL network announcers keep mentioning the other deficiencies the Falcons have.  I agree.  A great team can make a mediocre QB seem great. (e.g. 1997 Atlanta Falcons)  A bad team can make a good quarterback terrible. (E.g. David Carr)  Dorsey will be an anchor in the defensive line for years for whichever team gets him.  Ryan may be the next Manning or Brady.  But I think there is more chance that he'll be a Ferrote at best. Maybe he could be a Griese or even a Brad Johnson.  Then again, he could be a Byron Leftwich or Joey Harrington-which we already had.  If QB's are on a Bell Curve of ability, with Manning, Brady, Montanna, Young, etc on one end, and the other has Leaf, etc... I don't believe Ryan is as bad as the lower end.  But I don't think he gets out of the fat middle of the pack.  And for the No. 3 pick in the draft, you would like someone on the upper end.

I agree. I don't like the Matt Ryan pick. I wish they would've taken Glenn Dorsey to replace Rod Coleman, who was cut last season.

The Falcons needed a new face, a fresh face, for their franchise after the Vick debacle. Ryan is as good as any that was available at QB.

I agree with Cassidy. The Falcons needed a new face of their franchise. They had to get rid of the bad taste in the mouth of every Falcon's fan. I think drafting Matt Ryan gets rid of that bad taste.
