Before tonight's exciting game against the Colorado Rockies, I had an opportunity to chat with a couple of Rockies' fans on MLB GameDay. In other words, I was talking with the people that your mother warned us about. Here's our Chat Transcript:

Me: Hello, everyone. It should be a great game tonight. Brad Penny is on the mound for the Dodgers and Mark Redman is pitching for the Rockies.

WayWayCee: Wish I was there!

Me: Same. Unfortunately, I live in New York so it would be difficult for me to be at the game.

WayWayCee: You are closer than I am! I'm up in Canada so the Blue Jays are the home team.

Me: They have a great stadium, though. I think that it's called the Rogers Centre now. I got lost there once (long story). So, do you have any predictions for tonight's game?

TulosGirl: Rockies win.

Me: What a surprise. I'm expecting the Dodgers to win (of course).

TulosGirl: Haha. It's been kind of a sad day for me. Nix was sent down on assignment.

Me: He was batting .111 in 16 games. Unfortunately, that's not the type of offensive production a Major League Baseball club is looking for. You'll probably see more of him later in the 2008 Regular Season.

TulosGirl: I know but it was his first time in the Bigs. But, I think that he needed a little more time and it wasn't like he was batting against Scrubs.

Me: True. However, Blake DeWitt was batting around .300 before he got sent down to Triple-A yesterday. Thankfully, he has been recalled to replace the injured Nomar Garciaparra at third-base. As for Nix, it's unfortunate that the Rockies released Marcus Giles.

TulosGirl: I don't know how he would have done.

TheBigs00: Marcus Giles stunk.

Me: Not with Atlanta.

TheBigs00: In '06 he did.

Me: The 2006 Regular Season marked the start of his decline. I still believe that the Rockies would have been smart to keep the veteran on their roster. However, he was an expensive asset and the Rockies cut him lose. They could still sign him if they wanted.

TulosGirl: Wow. Did you see who threw out the first pitch?

Me: Unfortunately not. Brad Penny? He's starting for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

TulosGirl: Oscar De La Hoya!

It was actually an entertaining experience chatting with our division rivals. Hopefully, the Dodgers will grab their second win of the series. Lets go Dodgers!
