The nfl network had an analyst break down the teams who still needed to address needs in the draft that failed to come through and of course though the saints had a relatively strong draft they were the first team mentioned. Why? Because of our running backs? Are you serious? Last I checked Duece Mcallisters rehab was good enough that he didnt end up on the losing side of a bad deal on draft day and he was still healthy enough to make plans to drive across lake pontutrain for the opening of o.t.a.s. And yes Reggie has his place and the past year has humbled him (or thats my hopes anyhow) and who can forget the fiery lil illinois running back Pierre Thomas who showed flashes of old Duece in Chicago, in Decembr, in the snow! I remember reading one analysts suggestion that the Saints should draft Jon Stewart and call it a day, which leads me to the point of this madness....

The analyst I mentioned addressing the saints "still needing improvement area" suggested the saints work out shaun alexander and bring him in to camp to compete... The hawkscut ties with the former MVP for a very obvious reason, and I may be a Saints fan but I do live in Seattle so I am here to hear the talk around town, and hell I watched as my fiances family winced each time shaun touched the ball and fell over, i swear a piece of the city died everytime that happened, which was about 20 times a game, club hand and all. I will give Mr.Alexander credit where credit is due, he did his best to play through injury and these days guys miss weeks for turf toe, so for that shaun I respect you, but when you broke that foot man, you lost the hunger, and when you cashed that first multi-million dollar roster bonus you got comfortable and though holmgren loved you, you became expendable. Even Duece was given another shot to prove he would "make right on the investment" as he proudly put and took less money for the chance to retire in a few years in the town that loves and adores him even when hes injured or out. I promise you this when alexander broke his foot and was carried off the field, Duece got up with a tore ACL hanging off the knee cap and still hustled off the field. Thats the character of the man I guess, and thats the part of shaun that died a long time ago.

We may bring him in for a workout, hell im sure hell visit several teams with the 2 year ago MVP tag still on his million dollar smile, but I assure you if he shows up to airline drive in metarie and thinks hes going to oust one of our hometown heroes hes sadly mistaken, good luck in tampa I hear theyre paying millions for overrated veterans, but thats nothing to gruden as he sold his soul to beat oakland years ago.
