Who is Marcus Dixon you ask?
Well, to the delight of division foes, I'm sure, he's another of those "high risk" guys.
See, Marcus spent time in prison for "statutory rape". In fact he was supposed to do a minimum of 10 years. Cooler heads (and real lawyers acting pro bono) prevailed and this kid got a well deserved second chance on life, if not the NFL.
Marcus is a gifted DE who got a raw deal from what I can tell. Now, he may or may not turn out to be an NFL quality player, but he deserves the chance few teams other than the Cowboys are willing to give these days. A kid who is humble and appreciative of his opportunity. I like his chances.
As a Cowboys fan, my interest in this kid has little to do with what he can contribute on the field. While I'm rooting for him to become a sleeper for my favorite team, I'm rooting much harder for him to be a productive member of society after being treated (I believe) so unfairly at so young an age.
So often we forget just how young these kids are and how high the expectations are.
So often we judge people based on jury verdicts or even just heated words written on the internet. Check out this kids story and tell me you don't have even the least bit of compassion for him.
