After analyzing the Broncos picks from the last two days it's plain to see that we wont know what kind of draft they had until some time later on this year. The first two picks are rated very high, Ryan Clady arguably was the best left tackle available in this draft. Grade is an A. Eddie Royal is an excellent punt/kick returner with the ability to be a deep threat as a wide receiver also. Grade is a B+. From there the second day picks are a little less known. Kory Lichtensteiger, center/guard from Bowling Green is still recovering from shoulder surgery and he says he's still 2 to 3 months away from being full speed. Grade incomplete. Jack Williams, cornerback from Kent State is a little small for the position 5-9, 186lbs. but is an excellent athlete an hard hitter. Grade B. Ryan Torain, running back from Arizona St. missed the final six games of his senior season with a fractured big toe and does not have elite speed, but is a one cut north and south runner, which makes him a good fit for the Broncos running game. Grade C. After that the rest of the picks are solid and those guys have a chance to contribute this year. Carlton Powell, DT from Virginia Tech. 6-2 and 301lbs. a great run stopper and had 22 1/2 tackles for losses in his career. Grade B+. Spencer Larsen, Linebacker from Arizona 6-1 1/2, 242lbs. has played both inside and outside backer positions and received all confernece honors as a junior and senior. Has a knack for finding and stripping the ball and also recovering the football. Grade A-. Josh Barret, safety from Arizona St. 6-1 3/4, 223 lbs. amongst the biggest and fastest players at the position has had an injury prone career, but did run a 4.35 40 at the combine. Smart player who got a his degree already and should pick up the defensive schemes easily. Grade B+. Peyton Hillis, fullback/tight end from Arkansas, 6-0 3/4, 240 lbs. has alot of versatility can catch the football as well as run it and has also returned punts and kickoffs. Is an excellent blocker, having blocked for Darren McFadden and Felix Jones. Grade A+. Overall a good draft with alot of potential and upside, several of the players should be able to compete and start for the team this year. Later bloggies.

I guess my only question is concerning the CB Williams from Kent State. You say that he is a little small. That's what everyone says about Dre Bly too. I'm not much of a Dre fan, so knocking him doesn't bother me. I seem to be virtually alone on that ground though, so, if you like Dre, which I don't know if you do, would you still say that about Jack Williams?

being a small cornerback does not mean that you can't be an excellent player at the position. Like you said just look at "Dre" and "Champ", but he will be going up against taller receivers in the NFL so he will have to make up for his size with quickness and speed...

Good Blog; looking foward to hearing hopefully half or more of those guys' turning into great cogs 2-3 years from now (with exception of clady who is going to have a start at LT and the immediate impact Royal will give us in the return game)

I would give the Broncos a B- or C+. But I would think that they would give themselves an A. I think we got a real good player in Eddie Royal, too. He's another one of those guys that weren't looked over by the Broncos. He even said that they weren't on his radar, just like Cutler and D.J.(Williams, E4P). They're not doing too bad themselves.
