I, for one, have heard enough about Adam "Pacman" Jones, both positive and negative. The powers that be are going to do as they want anyway regardless of what I or any one else of the lower tiers say about it. However, I will say this. If this man is going to become part of the Cowboys and do as he should do, and leave this childish, thuggish behavior behind him, then I also think he should discard this out of date nickname as well, and become know simply as Adam, or Jones, or Adam Jones. Maybe even AJ. But, Pacman is really outdated and I fail to see how it fits now that the man is an adult (at least in theory). This new man should simply go by his given name from now on, and bury the pacman with his past.
I read somewhere about how he got that name, being that he, as a kid, drank his milk much like one of those pacmen devoured those ghostie thingies on the old arcade game. But the thing about it is, the man does have the discipline to straighten his act up, if he so chooses. One doesn't go to college, and do all the things to be drafted as high as he was, and not have any self discipline. He can do it if he really wants to, but he would have to leave the baggage behind, and that would include some of his so called childhood friends (See Michael Vick). Most people do grow up and leave their childhood friends, or friends they meet along the way. I've lost a lot of friends simply because I, or they, were transferred from one ship or another or to another base elsewhere (Navy). Life goes on, and if he does intend to change, then he should start with the name. That's my opinion anyway.

I think you have misunderstood me. I never said I was happy with Jerry Jones for bringing him to the team. But, the fact is, he did trade for and got him. All we can do now is hope for the best, and time will tell insofar as his actions are concerned. I am not defending him in any way, shape or form. All I said was *IF* he was to change, then he should start with the nickname, because of the fact it is associated with his past actions. Whether Adam changes or not, remains to be seen. The Cowboys have tolerated a lot of "renegades" throughout the years...Lance Rentzel, Duane Thomas, Thomas Henderson...and most recently, Nate Newton did time for drugs, as did Bob Hayes. It could be worse...we could have the Bengals's problems.
Granted, the times and offenses are altogether different, but a sin is a sin. I won't be casting the first stone, but will watch and see if he is indeed capable of changing himself. I would think tho, that if he was found guilty of all the things that was reported, then he would be doing time...but he hasn't been convicted of anything other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Again, I am NOT defending Adam in the least...just stating things from what I've read and understand them to be.
When Michael Vick is released, chances are someone somewhere will give him another chance, because of his immense talent. I doubt it will be Atlanta tho.He may not come back as a QB, but I bet he'll be back, maybe as a RB or WR, but he'll be back.

BTW, appreciate the comments.....and I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers, but just making a comment on how this man can somewhat redeem himself, if he is indeed sincere. Again, that remains to be seen.
