The Los Angeles Dodgers are scheduled to start their three-game series with the Florida Marlins later today. The Marlins have a 15-10 record in the 2008 Regular Season, which is good for first-place in the challenging National League East division. Hopefully, the Dodgers will be able to extend their three game winning-streak during the exciting series.
Derek Lowe will be the starting-pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He currently has a 2-1 record during the Regular Season with an Earned-Run Average of 2.45. However, the Dodgers' ace was 0-2 against the Marlins last season.
Lowe left his last start against the Arizona Diamondbacks after only five innings, throwing 67 pitches in the shortened performance. He complained of tightness in his elbow. But, an examination confirmed that everything is where it should be and thus Lowe will be able to make today's scheduled start and not take a trip to the Disabled-List.
The Florida Marlins will give Andrew Miller the ball. The 22-year-old has established himself as a promising southpaw with a fastball in the mid-90's and a powerful slider. Hopefully, he will not dominate the Dodgers' batters, who recently compiled 22 runs against the Colorado Rockies over three games.
The first-pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 7:10 PM EST at Dolphin Stadium. Dodger Sims lists the Los Angeles Dodgers as the simulation favorite. Hopefully, our favorite team will be victorious in the game.
