Our most recent poll asks, "Which NFC East player would you most like to add to the Eagles?" Your answer was DeMarcus Ware of the Dallas Cowboys. Coincidentally, this was also my pick. Having Ware at OLB in place of Chris Gocong would give us a dominant linebacking corps of Ware, Trotter and Spikes, with Gaither and Gocong in reserve. Linebacking has not been a priority of the Birds in recent years, with the notable exception of Takeo Spikes. They're still trying to replace the underrated Carlos Emmons, most recently with 2006 3rd round pick Chris Gocong, who spent the entire 2006 season on IR.
My second pick was Jeremy Shockey, who failed to register a single vote. I thought Shockey would bring the one thing missing from our offense, which is fire. As great as McNabb is (and he is), he lacks the kind of fire that Shockey brings.
The top vote-getters after Ware were Redskins WR Santana Moss with four votes and Cowboys TE Jason Witten with three. Clearly, you guys think the Eagles need to upgrade their options at receiver. Moss would be a fine addition at WR, and Witten probably an upgrade at TE. Personally though, I feel that the Eagles have bigger needs on defense.
What are your opinions? This is your Fan Group, speak up! What kind of polls would you like to see? I'm open to any suggestions. I realize that it's the slow time of year for the NFL, but let's get torqued up for the Eagles!
