I'm having serious Deja Vu. I remember last year after the draft listening to criticism of the Cowboy's draft strategy. I remember defending it, before I was a member of this site. I remember saying that the Cowboys didn't NEED to draft a Receiver, that while yes, Terry Glenn and T-O aren't the youngest players on the planet, they've both shown terrific production and we were a couple of years away from needing any serious receiver help. Then Terry Glenn takes a blown tire and turns it into a whole broken axel. Ok, I'll eighty-six the analogies, but you get where I'm coming from. I mean, sure, Patrick Crayton can fly .. and he stopped coating his hands in olive oil, but still. He's a terrific #3, but not so great as a #2.
Fast forward to this year's draft. No receiver. I know few trades occur AFTER the draft, but I sure would like to see something happen with Boldin, Williams or Ocho-Cinco (I'd prefer one of the two former over the latter, less distraction).
I can't say that I understand where your head is at, Jerry Jones. There were some strong receivers available at your picks and nada. Maybe you've let the reigns loosen a bit and this was the coaches call. Yeah, right.. the buck stops at you. If Receiver turns out to be a weakness this year and this prevents the 'Boys from having as good of a year as they could have, I will think back to April 26/27 weekend as the reason.
Next post? My steal of the draft, my oddity of the draft, feel good story, and my "What-the-$#%&" pick of the draft.

I agree to a little,I was really in shock when I heard they had traded Starting Linebacker Adyole and Tight End Fansano to the Dolphins for a fourth Round pick. That really shock me.Giving them a started and a second round pick tight end who all ready knew the system in place of a fourth round pick.
The draft started off really good with the first two picks.Jones and Jenkins will help the Cowboys immeditly. The Second round pick blew me away. They already had a (Fasano) tight end they gave away for a fourth, and they go get another. This pick could have brought in a wide receiver. There were still good wide outs out there.I believe that Owens and Glenn still have a few good years left in them and they can get a wide out next year, but there was still some quality Receivers there with the second round pick.
The other thing was when they started moving back with the other picks,They could have package them to get a more valued player. They also had a chance with any of those picks to get(Brennin,Booty) a Quarterback, not to replace Romo, but to get younger in the backup role.Maybe Jerry Jones has a plan. This draft with the Cowboys had me puzzled.

Puzzling is a good word. Did we need that second running back? I mean I hear he's fast, but still. More pressing needs for sure. Is Glenn even healthy? And if healthy, is he 100% or could he re-injure easily?
I agree on the Fasano trade but I didnt want to bring it up. I think Ayodele was a cap issue. With Thomas coming in, Ayodele would be a backup paid starter money. Maybe they aren't that sold on Fasano, or even forced to include him to make someone else take over his contract.
