Today St. John's signed Shooting Guard Quincy Roberts to a scholarship. The 6 foot 5 inch guard was recently committed to the University of Miami, but after re-evaluating his situation chose the Red Storm over the Temple Owls and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Pennsylvania native led his high school, Harrisburg High, to the Sweet 16 in their State tournament and averaged 19 points last season.
After losing two players to transfer last week, and nine transfers during the Norm Roberts era, it's good to finally receive some good news. Hopefully Quincy is the catalyst that this team sorely needs in our quest back to respectability in the Big East Conference.
So, welcome to the Red Storm and Saint John's University. May you have a great career and I look forward to seeing you hoop it up at the Garden and Alumni Hall.

I know, it's St. John's. No one but me and like three other people here will care.

Report Offensive CommentI for one would enjoy seeing Norm Roberts expelled from being with 45 miles of the St Johns Campus if they don't make the tourney this year.

Report Offensive CommentI haven't seen him, but I heard he's for real. Actually many people in the area were miffed that he had no interest in staying around here to go to school.
