Yes, it's early.  Just one month into the season the Chicago Cubs are showing the other contenders in the NL Central that this division is theirs to lose.  Ringing up 19 runs off of Suppan last evening sent the message that the Cubs are to be taken seriously.  Sure, talk of World Series is a bit premature, some even suggesting that such prophecy will backfire and ultiamtely curse the squad.  But tallying up potent offense like last night's performance off a pitcher that has enjoyed success at Wrigley over the past years signifies the Lovable Losers might be in the market for a new nickname.

With the return of Soriano, Felix Pie will probably spend some time at AAA, along with Matt Murton.  Having Soriano back, however, adds yet another formidable element to the lineup, making these offense generating Cubs a more potent threat.  In all my years as a Cubs fan, I've never known a Cubbie team that can score like these guys.  Sure, there will be slumps and off nights, but any residal doubt I may have had coming into the season is starting to wear off.

Go Cubs!
