I don't mean to anger any Florida fans out there, and don't get the idea that I'm jealous because we don't have Donovan, but these recent "Oh, I've changed my minds" can't be good for either program. Just look at it from the Magic's point of view: They are looking for a coach that can put their team on track, and they find one in Donovan, who says a change to the NBA with that type of team is just what he needs and the move is a no-brainer. But, wait, Donovan starts to get home-sick after 24 hours and has second thoughts. PLEASE! Not only is this not fair to Orlando, but it is also bad for Donovan. He had a chance to leave Florida on top as the greatest coach of all time there. There is nothing more Donovan can do at Florida that he hasn't already done. Plain and simple. Now that Donovan is back at Florida, he is picking up a team that has no chance of winning a national title in the coming couple of years, and maybe even worse, one that will most likely be beaten by Kentucky, which has become one of Florida's greatest rivals in basketball. I don't understand why Donovan would want to stay at Florida after being given such a brilliant opportunity. He had everything going for him down the road in Orlando.
But, who knows? He might just end up there again!

UF will still be competitive and they have not lost any recruits.

Van Gundy is a better NBA coach than Donovan could ever hope to be.

I don't like the nothing left to do at UF argument. He can prove that he can win another title without the same starting five.
