A couple of weeks into the NBA, we've learned a lot about every team that came into this yeat's playoff series, here's the big headlines:
Experience is big: The Pistons proved that experience was a key when they struggled against the 76ers and were still able to come out in a , not-so-bad, 6-game series after they pretty much massacred Philly from the 3rd quarter of Game 4 till the end of the series. Boston is experiencing a disaster against the Hawks, whom they were supposed to sweep. Honestly, it looks like two kids lost in a new playground, both teams demonstrate inconsistency at its best and lack of experience; both don't seem to understand who big this playground is.
Don't underestimate the Champions: Many predicted the Spurs would be out by the first round but they put up stiff fight against the Suns who weren't able to match them. The Spurs are back into many's hopes for June.
The King can still do it: The Cavs are through to Round 2, but it is obvious the King is the leader of this surge, the Cavs might not make it to the next round but at least the King can be satisfied knowing that he can still win a series all by himself, even with such a bad supporting cast bringing him down (ok, they're not that bad...).
McGrady in the same hole for life?: McGrady and the Rockets made another early exit from the playoffs, you have to seel for the guy. He is an extremely gifted player but he doesn't have the luck. Unfortunately that talent will get him on the big stage but he'll be stuck until that little luck punches in to make him a true legend.
Dallas and Phoenix have a lot of work to do: Another season and another disappointing finish for two of the most dominant, regular season, teams. The Mavs need to reconsider their whole team and the menatality. The Jason Kidd trade brought them down ad Dirk tried to bring them out of that hole but he couldn't do it. As for the Suns, they've lost against the Spurs, the very team they got Shaq to beat, if bringing Shaq didn't work, then you have to wonder, with an aging Steve Nash, where do they go from now?

Good blog, but I wouldn't worry too much about an "aging Steve Nash" as you say. He's still putting up great double-double numbers and is still helping the team out on the court. When his numbers go down AND the team's winning percentage goes down, then you get rid of him.

The problem for the Suns and Mavs is, while others have taken a step forward (Lakers, Jazz, Hornets and Blazers), they appear to have taken a step back. All those teams will be better from a health and/or experience perspective, the Mavs and Suns will just be a year older and over the cap.
And don't expect to have vets like Grant Hill to fall into their laps during the offseason, as those guys will be lining up to play with the Lakers, Celtics and Hornets in hopes of getting a ring.
