The Philadelphia Flyers are making another playoff run. Before the lockout, the Flyers were accustomed to making the playoffs and making the Eastern Conference Finals. Well, after a miserable year last year, theyre back in the ECF. The Last time was before the lockout when they went a grueling 7 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning before losing to the Lightning (who went on to win the Stanley Cup.)
This time the Flyers go up against "Sid the Kid." Yes, the Flyers shut down Alexander Ovechkin in the first round, but could they be able to shut down the "other" "Second Coming?" This should be a very entertaining series with alot of smack talk back and forth and tempers flaring.
If you happen to watch the series on TV, listen for the Philadelphia fans chanting "CROSBY SUCKS!" through out the game.

i think you are using the term "shut down" a little to loosely when refering to ovechkin and the capitals, if i remember correctly the flyers were up 3-1 in the series and the caps came back to tie the series and force a game 7. unlike ovechkin, who is the whole team in washington, crosby has a complete team behind him. as you philly fans are chanting "crosby sucks" us pens fans will be watching the pens advance to the stanley cup. GO PENS!!!

Flyers are gonna OWN the Penguins. Your just getting cocky cus you beat a lousy Senators team. I really can't see Crosby walking out of this one alive, let alone un-injured

You've got to be delusional to believe that philly is going to win that series......I say either the Pens sweep or win in 5, but philly isn't as good as their fans think. And TRUST ME, they'll learn.

Do you guys realize that your precious Pens dropped the last game of the season so they could avoid playing the Flyers?? Why do you think that was? It's because they were scared to death to play us. My Fly boys beat the hottest team in the league with Alex the Great in seven electrifying games. We destroyed the Canadiens in 5 and should have swept them. No one gave us a chance against either team. Do you realize that Montreal only led in any of those games during the last part of the first game and for one period in the last game. Think about that! We are going to win in 6. The only thing Pittsburgh is good at these days is diving and whining about not getting more calls when diving. Go Flyers!

haha no, because we wanted the joke of the matchup against ottawa and not waste energy....so far pens have only played 9 games....the flyers? 12.....the wear and tear will show when the pens fly all around you and light up Biron........and actually i did give you a chance against both teams....in a TD before the playoffs began, I picked you guys as the surprise team to make a cup run....so i actually know my hockey.
the pens havent lost in regulation at home since early february.... there is no way you beat us at home

The Flyers are too physical for the Pens to handle. You talk about wear and tear Duquense? Malkin and Crosby will be injured quickly (if Crosby doesn't start diving first). Did you even pay attention to the Flyers-Habs series? The Flyers hadn't won a regular season game against them and beat them in 5 in the playoffs. You're so called domination at home means nothing in the Playoffs. I also hope no one out there is getting spoon-fed the rubbish ESPN is knocking out. The Pens powerplay? Hossa? Don't make me laugh, The Flyers have got their own superman in R.J. Umberger. 8 goals in 5 is better than 5 goals overall in the Playoffs

First of all ROssyB. Domination at home has nothing to do with the regular season, the Pens are 5-0 in the playoffs, end of story. And dalovin, the Caps were way overrated. If it weren't for the nhl's crazy seeding system, the caps would have finished behind both Ottawa and the Flyers. And people might have noticed that if they were slurping up Alex the Great. And if beating up on TB, ATL and CAR qualifies as being the hottest team in hockey, then essentially everybody but 3/4 of the southeast division is the hottest team in hockey. You should be ashamed it took you 7 games. As for beating the Habs, congrats! you got in the head of a 20 yr old. Good luck doing that this series. No seriously, good luck, cause your going to have to get into Fleury's head to have a chance. And all of this diving talk is ridiculous. And you either no that, or betray a fundamental ignorance about the game. For the record, the Rangers, despite all of their whining, had more power play opprotunities than the Pens. The fact is every team, player, and coach is trying to gain a competitive advantage during the playoffs, so when your team/coach/fans etc whine about Crosby whining, keep in mind that we here in Pittsburgh are laughing at your hypocrisy.

well first of all the rangers were more physical and a better overall team then the flyers are (it took us 5 games to dismiss them). Who would you rather have, Umberger or Crosby or Malkin or Hossa? Hmmmm yea, not a tough call there by anymeans. Umberger isnt even the best player to come out of the pittsburgh area in the series. That acknowledgment goes to malone. I don't need fed any of the ESPN BS....I watch all the games....the Pens have EVERY SINGLE ADVANTAGE against the Flyers except for dirty players.....not even a contest in any of the categories

I'm not suggesting that Umberger is the best player to come out of Pittsburgh in this series. I also don't think Umberger coming from Pittsburgh changes anything. Crosby was once a Flyers fan. I don't think that rattles you too much does it?
From what I've watched of the Penguins (All games vs. Flyers + bout' 5 more), they seem to rely too much on the names you've mentioned there - Crosby, Malkin and Hossa throughout both the regular season and the playoffs so far (Yes I checked the stats. On the Penguins website no less.) I believe the Caps did a similar thing with Federov and Ovechkin. Reading blog after blog about "What's up with Alex the Great" was amusing and all, but repetetive. I wouldn't be surpirsed if it happened again to the Pens.
Oh, and seeing as ItsAllinTheGame has decided to go for the blows below the belt questioning the Poster, not the Post...A white out?!? Your kidding right? Orange Crush might be a bit corny but atleast we don't wear the colour that signifies surrender...there I said it
And the thing about Sidney Crosby diving, it's obvious we're gonna support different sides of the argument because of who we support. But to kick a dead horse, we wouldn't even be having this argument if he hadn't done it at some point. No ones ever questioned Ovechkin or Zetterberg or any other Penguins players for that matter, of diving. So why have we chosen Crosby? I can't imagine it was random - he must have done it at least once for anyone to start shouting about it. It happens in every sport, and not always to the better players.
