Well the inevitable has happened, The Dolphins traded a conditional fifth rounder to Kansas City for Trent Green.

Let me start off by talking about the trade itself, that 5th rounder could become a fourth if Green meets the incentives(if he performs well then it was worth it). King Carl said negotiations would end, and they would keep Green unless a deal was done, so we bit and made that crazy SOB look like a genius. But it was safer move then keeping Culpepper.

I think that Green is a smart, accurate QB with an adequate arm and he's a good leader.

Acvoring to  a Cheifs fan on a Dolphins message board:

Strengths:

Good field vision (excellent at reading defenses, doesn't get fooled too often).

Superb command of the offense (knows where everyone needs to be and will be if the play is run properly).

Extremely accurate if given time to throw. Deadly off play-action.

Adequate arm.

Has surprising escape ability at times despite limited mobility - he's not Bledsoe. Fearless scrambler (got him hurt last year) and will dive for first downs.

Rarely fumbles.

Devastating blocker, especially when the running back cuts it back against the grain.

Weaknesses:

Holds the ball way too long sometimes - this is his most glaring weakness.

Horrid accuracy when on the run. Will frequently throw the ball in the dirt at an open receiver's feet when trying to throw while rolling out.

Throws an average-at-best deep ball.

Has a nasty habit of forcing the ball in the redzone, leading to interceptions at the worst possible times.

Thats what was one of Culpepper's flaws, and that worries me.

The past few years he's put up great numbers, his average QB rating over the past few years was in the 90s

But that was before he also got his head taken off, and after that concussion he played awful.

Concussions are very serious injuries and after you get one you are prone to more, he isn't a spring chicken anymore either, once a QB is in his mid to late 30s, they decline, and Green may have shown his age last year, or that could have been because of the concussion, or both.

Well hopefully he'll get the job done and tutor John Beck, we'll just have to wait and see how tis move turns out, it could lead to a very exciting year or another crappy one.
