DC Sports Nut: Nats, AGAIN??
|

I had the thought for this entry this morning, while I was eating breakfast. This has to deal with a blog I wrote for "Random Blogging", and my thoughts on it.

If you haven't read the one on there about why we here in FanNation aren't being given a chance to showcase our work in SI (or on CNN), you won't know what I'm talking about. If you have read it, allow me to continue.

Anyway, I got responses to it. The one that got my attention, though, belongs to J. Hova...about taking his "40/40 Club" to SI (the print version, that is). His quote was, "I may go broke, but DAMN IT, I'm published!!!!". That cracked me up...and then, I thought of something. Like I said, this morning. At breakfast.

"Why stop at the '40/40'?? Why not include Thugmeister's 'BB&S' blog?? Or this joint?? Or any of a couple hundred others on here??", I thought. Next thing I knew, I had the idea...for an alternative to SI. I even had the name for it--FanNation Magazine. And right under the title, J. Hova's quote (paraphrased by yours truly):

"We might be unknowns, but DAMN IT, we're published!!!"

     Catchy, isn't it??

Hey, I'm just an idea man. I don't have the moolah to make this a reality (and I know none of you have that lying around, either!!!), but doesn't this address what I've said in the "RB" piece?? I mean, there are people who predate me here in FN who deserve to have their material put out for the masses to read.

Ah, it's only a pipe dream; I know. And yet...

Anyone wants to create a blog and use "FanNation Magazine" as the title, with the intent of bringing together all these blogs of ours...have at it. Just make sure you give props to ME, all right?? I get a little protective of my work, you know??

Now, if we can just figure out how to structure our little "magazine'...
