In this third part of my "best at every position" series, I rate the National Football League's ten best wide recievers. I think that there are really two things that make a good WR (aside from great athletic ability): 1. A good quarterback to throw him the ball and 2. a good offensive line to protect the QB. The top three or four could probably go in order.
1. Chad Johnson, Bengals: Ocho Cinco will definitely not beat a horse in a race, but he's a fast reciever with great hands. He also has a great QB and O-Line.
2. Steve Smith, Panthers: Steve Smith is a big play reciever with great speed. He's almost unguardable on the deep routes.
3. Torry Holt, Rams: Holt may just have the game's best hands, and we all remember the catch he made against Seattle a year ago.
4. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals: Fitzgerald is the best pure athlete on this list. The quarterback and offensive line situation keep him from grabbing a top two spot.
5. Terrell Owens, Cowboys: TO could easily be higher if it wasn't for the extra baggage you get with him. He should turn in another nice season in Dallas.
6. Marvin Harrison, Colts: If Harrison was more of a flamboyant guy, people may just realize how good he is year in and year out. Three years ago, he would have easily been number one.
7. Hines Ward, Steelers: Ward is the ultimate team player. He is not only a great reciever but the league's best blocking wideout as well.
8. Andre Johnson, Texans: If Johnson played on one of the league's better teams he would get much better recognition. He's gone to Honolulu the past two years and should make another trip in 2007.
9. Roy Williams, Lions: Like Johnson, Williams would benefit from playing on one of the league's better teams. I saw him play my Fins on Turkey Day last year and he was unstoppable.
10. Lee Evans, Bills: Evans has turned into one of the game's better WRs. There really wasn't a clear cut choice for the tenth spot, so he gets the nod.
Honorable Mentions: Donald Driver, Chris Chambers, Deion Branch, Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin

Fitzgerald ahead of Hines Ward? Please. Fitzgerald was a legend-in college, but so far he is just a good pro. Hines is a proven pro-bowler w/a ring and he runs over defenders not around them. Also, TJ(Chad Johnson's more productive teammate) should be on this top 10 way ahead of dudes like Roy Williams and Lee Evans, especially Williams who is living off potential and not performance.

Fitz is a little high...Hines Ward is a great player, but a great reciever....maybe. Lee Evans should be higher...TO shouldn't be on the list (or at least not top 3)...Kudos for not buying into the whole media being wet for Randy Moss thing. Good list, right players, but in my opinion its a little out of order.

Wow, with all the kudos going out to Lee Evans, I'm going to have to make sure to watch him this year.
