Cornerback Hank Poteat has bounced around the league like a rubber ball for a time now. On Tuesday, he bounced back to the Jets, hopefully permenantly.
The return of Poteat was announced by the team Today.
Poteat, a former Pittsburgh Panther, was drafted by the Steelers in 2000. Prior to joining the Jets, Poteat started only two games in six NFL seasons. In two years with the Jets, Poteat has started in 15 games.
In 2007, he appeared in every game, with nine starts. He also had two interceptions - the first two of his entire career. Poteat while not being the greatest player is still a major contributor for the Jets and it feels good to have a Vet in the backfield.
