Interview #13 with DJ

Alright, I'm dyhard and I'm doing my first interview...my interviewy, DJ.

dyhard:Hi DJ, how's a going?

DJ:Pretty good. Looking over Packers draft stuff. Yourself?

dyhard:I'm good. What did you think of the Packers draft?

DJ:I think it will be a good season. The Packers still have a great core and the only change is that Rodgers will be the quarterback instead of Favre. While there will be growing pains, the Packers are definitely able to have a 10 or 11 or even 12 win season. It will be hard for them to repeat last year because of a tough schedule, but they will be competitive.

dyhard:Any thoughts on the entire NFL draft?

DJ:The draft was too cornerback heavy. There were more defensive backs (something like 35) drafted than any other position, and I hate to say it, but most of them will not pan out. If you look at some of the past cornerbacks to be taken high (Antrel Rolle, Ahmad Carroll), they have not quite reached their potential. Defensive backs make more solid picks in the later rounds. Watch for DBs drafted in the late-second-to-early-fourth to make the biggest impact in 2008.

dyhard:So you are a Orioles fan. Any thoughts on them?

DJ:I'm not so much as an Orioles fan as I just follow them. The Phillies are currently my favorite team. I'm in the Baltimore area and they garner the most local coverage so I see them the most. Cal Ripken had me entranced at a young age, so I tend to follow them. As my name implies, Nick Markakis is currently my favorite Orioles player. I've said this many times on here, but I got to see him play Class A ball over at that local team. He's going to be a good one.

dyhard:Any thoughts on the Phillies?

DJ:They just need starting pitching. The front office needs to break the bank on a starter. Adam Eaton does not cut it.

dyhard:Thoughts on my Brewers....

DJ:The Brewers have a great young core for the next few years. They need to shore up their starting pitching if they really want to contend.

dyhard:Alright....so who would you vote for in the presidential election?

DJ:If I could vote right now, my vote would probably go to Barack Obama.

dyhard:Why?

DJ:Right now I just want change. I am not old enough to vote in this election, but I know where change needs to be made: at the top. I am sick and tired of the Bush administration and I think McCain would be an extension of that. Hillary just annoys me a little bit, while Obama is the most appealing to me.

dyhard:Well...that concludes this interview, thanks for your time

DJ:Anytime.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for DJ for having the opportunity to interview him.
