American League Playoffs

(1) Los Angeles Angels vs. (4) New York Yankees
For one of the first times in my predictions, I am not being a total homer. I have put the Angels ahead of my favorite team, the Boston Red Sox. Back to the series. It is the Angels against the Yankees this time, the Yankees barely managing to squeak into the playoffs and the Angels winning their division by far. The Angels have dominant pitching right now, despite a couple starters out with injuries, and the Yankees have a decent rotation, but their young pitchers have disappointed. The Angels have a better lineup than the Yankees. I don't see this going in the favor of the Yankees.
Angels win in four games.

(2) Boston Red Sox vs. (3) Cleveland Indians
Another Red Sox against the Indians match up in the playoffs. Last time the Sox prevailed after another great comeback in the playoffs. The Red sox rotation and lineup seems to play better in the postseason and C.C. Sabathia is a better regular season performer than post season and he is having a bad regular season so far. It isn't looking up for the Indians.
Red Sox win in five games.

(1) Los Angeles Angels vs. (2) Boston Red Sox
This is a very, very good match up. The Angels and Red Sox are both great all around teams. They have good lineups, good rotations,  but the Angels have the better bullpen. Last season the Red Sox may have won the World Series because of their strong bullpen last season, but this year, they could lose because of a weak one. Unless the Red Sox get some miracles or make a good move to improve the bullpen, I don't think they can win it.
Angels win in seven games.

National League Playoffs

(1) Arizona Diamondbacks vs. (4)  Chicago Cubs
The Diamondbacks have been absolutely dominant. Their rotation has beent he best in the majors so far and their lineup has matured much since last year and they are hitting well. They are clearly the best team in the National League and I see them having no problem advancing by the Cubs in round one.
Diamondbacks win in three games.

(2) New York Mets vs. (3) Saint Louis Cardinals
I have the Mets only better by one game during the regular season. That difference is not much and I actually think the Cardinals are a better team. The Mets choked this year and to add on top of them not being as good as the Cardinals is the fact that they are content with making it to the playoffs. It's a possibility.
Cardinals win in five games.

(1) Arizona Diamondbacks vs. (3) Saint Louis Cardinals
I am just such a big fan of the Diamondback's team this year. Not in the way that I would root for them, I am just extremely impressed. I think with their very, very good pitching. Led by Brandon Webb. And their young, fast, and powerful lineup will lead them all the way to the World Series. With very little trouble.
Diamondbacks win in six games.

World Series

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Angels
Now THIS is a hard choice. It could really go either way. The Angels are missing a few pitchers, but their rotation is still good. Imagine what it will be like when they are healthy! Wow. The lineups are practically equal, with the Angels gaining a little favor. The Diamondbacks are great right now, but there are always injury possibilities. I'm giving this one to the Angels because they are doing extremely well in the more difficult league despite injuries. So the World Series trophy stays in the American League this year.
Angels win it all in seven games.

Detroit with fewer than 70 wins????

I did the records in about ten minutes...

I agree...it is too early.

Report Offensive Comment

The picks do suck....

Report Offensive Comment

Tigers will definitely be over .500, though i don't think they'll be in the playoffs this year

Report Offensive Comment

Okay, I get it, the picks are terrible. I know they are. Enough already.

Report Offensive Comment

Angels never do anything in the playoffs.

I think the White Sox and Tigers will be fighting for first in the central with 85-90 each and the Cardinals will run away with the NL central and the Philles will win the Wild Card. By the way you have 2299 total wins for all the teams and 2557total losses for all the teams. Also you only have the Orioles playing 158 games, 4 short of regular season. Great Blog, sorry for the nit picking but that was bothering me.
