Has anyone ever heard of a band from Finland called The Curse?

Probably not, and up until a year ago, I had no clue who they were either. A friend of mine had heard them on XM Radio, and suggested that I check them out. After searching high and low, the only band I could find was this band from Finland. This band recorded a 11-song demo in 2005 after jamming on some Whitesnake and Metallica covers, and posted the songs for free download at their website: thecurserock.com. I will admit, that at first I was really skeptical about them, but this band sounds like a lot of Metallica and the Scorpions mixed with RATT and Whitesnake. The vocals really leave something to be desired, when you can cut through the singer's thick Finnish accent, but it is a demo after all; and the whole point is to put your music out there for people to listen to. The music is really raw and aggressive, which is where this band stands out and makes up for the crappy vocals. The production is better than average, and you can really hear every little sound on guitar and drums, which usually get lost in a more polished production. As a demo, its worth checking out.
