Im looking at the Bobcats webpage today and I see fourteen teams odds of getting the first pick in the NBA.When I scan down to the eighth spot I see the Bobcats with a 2.8% chance of getting the first pick.It may not be much but its still better then most teams, making this a fun draft to watch.
Anway say we get the fifth pick.I see it coming down to Love, Lopez, or if there both off the board and we get a worse pick Jordon, Gordon,Augustin,or Auther would be solid picks to.This is a very deep draft so there should be no problem picking up a good player no matter were we pick and hopefully in the second round we'll get another Dudley type of player.Anyway heres a quick rundown on my draft board for the Bobcats, not including Beasly or Rose since we all know there going one and two, plus if they got that pick I would trade down because we dont need them and could get a lot in return.
1.Kevin Love-Hes the best fit for the Bobcats because of his size, strenght and he would fill a need that we had allo of last year at Center. At 6'10 he can play both center and power foward, plus he averaged 18 points,11 rebounds and lead his team throughtout the NCAA tournament.Hes a winner, great player, and fills a need making him number one on my draft board.
2.Brook Lopez-At 7'0 feet,260 pounds Lopez would also fit the Bobcats big man need.He averaged over 19 points and 8 rebounds last year in a good conference making him a solid pick.
3.D.J. Augustin-If both Lopez and Love are off the board I would rather see them trade down then pick, but Augustin is the best guy at that point.Hes a great scorer averaging 19 points a game and also a good decision maker,a solid three on any draft board.
4.Kosta Koufos-At Ohio State this guy was a beast. At 7'1 hes a good size for a center and averages about 14 points and 7 rebounds every game.Like Love and Lopez he fills a need and adds depth making him fourth on our list.
5.Eric Gordon-Gordon was thoguht to be a top five pick before the season but his stock has slipped because of a terrible end to the season. If hes avalible I could see the Bobcats calling his name because hes a natrual scorer and would help our team in many ways.
6.Anthony Randolph-Anthonys another solid power foward out of LSU making him a solid pick if we trade down.He averaged 16 points,9 boards and would also add some depth though he seems like another Sean May to me.
7.DeAndre Jordan-Jordon only has one downside and thats that he doesnt have great collage numbers. With only 8 points and 6rebounds every game hes a high rish, high reward type of guy making him seven on our list.
8.Marreese Speights-He has the potential to be a speical player and will drop to the mid first round because he played on a sup-par Florida team.Speights could have been a top ten pick if he would have stayed another year but if avalible later in the first round. The Bobcats may be able to trade up and get him.
9.Darrell Arthur-You might remember Arthur from the national championship game,he was the driving force for the Kansas offense and is a solid player, though hes never going to become great.
In the second round there still should be a lot of good players avalible, heres some that could be future Bobcats
1.D.J. White-White has slipped because of his bad end to the season but in the second round hes well worth the risk.Last year he averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds but teams will stay away from him because of his size.In my eyes hes the second coming of Carlos Boozer,on the flip side he may be the next Thrus Thomas but well worth a second rounder.
2.Wayne Ellington-A North Carilina starter last year,he would have been helped by staying a few more years in collage.Though averaing 17 points,3 rebounds and shooting 40 percent from behind the arc makes him another solid second rounder.
3.Shan Foster-Foster is a tremendous scorer with a killer nack from behind the arc.Last year he scored 20 points with a 53 percent shooting percentage and 46 percent from behind the arc making him a perfect three point threat for the Bobcats
4.Joey Dorsey-Dorseys a small player with great heart. He hustles his heart out and puts up solid numbers, plus hes a winner and would bring a winning mentality something that Larry Brown loves.
5.David Padgett-Out of all the possible picks, this one would be my favorite.Padgett had a great season for Louisville nbut lacks the size to compete in the NBA.
There you have it,the Bobcats draft board, now who do you think they will pick.
