It seems like OSU people hang out a good bit on this site. And they show up a good deal on SEC related posts and blogs. Some might call it trolling, or lurking, or flaming. But not me, it's all good, and what fannation is all about. I mean, I know about the 7 National Titles. I know about all the tradition. What I don't understand is the animosity you all have toward the SEC. We are obviously the dominant conference right now, and have beaten y'all twice in as many years for the national title. So what gives? Maybe it is this: Ohio State v. SEC teams in bowl games- 0 and 9. That has to stick in your craw, as Grandma said. No wonder you are mad. I would be, too. That is a pretty poor showing against a conference y'all think is overrated. That goes back all the way, too. Back even before Woody Hayes. Speaking of which, I saw him jump on the field and punch that opposing player. Right there on national tv. Even as a dumb little kid, I was astounded by that. But back on topic: You can mock Georgia for not playing in a BCS championship (yet). But the last time UGA met OSU, it was 21-14. Georgia with the big number. And I guess I would be mad if I had to live in Ohio, too. I went there on business a few years ago. What I saw was dingy little brick buildings, run down neighborhoods, and endless cornfields. Professor Stephenson from GSU said that even the snow is dirty in the winter. And most of the women have big rear ends and freckles. You think barbecue is a verb, but it is a noun. You think tailgating involves those greasy sausages and big overcoats. It is really about smoked pork and hot chicks in black and red dresses. (I have been to numerous Georgia games, you have to believe me-Y'all come!)
So I know you are all hungry for another shot at the NC. So are we. Best of luck to you, you Buckeyes. And GO DAWGS!

Here's some reasons to reconsider. Go here to "Front 9" and scroll down to item #4. Sorry the wording is a bit harsh - it was written for a different audience.

Report Offensive CommentI;ve seen this post 99 different times all about the same stuff. The ohio women are fat and ugly, we're poor, we suck, blah, blah, blah....
The thing is Ohio State fans cheer for OSU, not the Big Ten, so when an entire conference gangs up on one school, it to me seems pathetic

Report Offensive CommentThere's a place in the world for the OSU fan
With his working class ties and his radical plans
He refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl,
He's always at home with his back to the wall.
And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost,
And he struggles and bleeds as he hangs on the cross-
And he likes to be known as the OSU fan.
Give a moment or two to the OSU fan,
With his foot in his mouth and his heart in his hand.
He's been stabbed in the back, he's been misunderstood,
It's a comfort to know his intentions are good.
And he sits in a room with a lock on the door,
With his maps and his medals laid out on the floor-
And he likes to be known as the OSU fan.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.
And there's always a place for the OSU fan,
With his fist in the air and his head in the sand.
And he's never been able to learn from mistakes,
So he can't understand why his heart always breaks.
But his honor is pure and his courage as well,
And he's fair and he's true and he's boring as hell-
And he'll go to the grave as an OSU fan.

Report Offensive CommentI've always respected the Big 10; I have family up in Iowa, so that's probably why. You wanna talk about nothing to do? Ohio is like a fun fest compared to Iowa. REally though, I live in Gainesville, GA, and I can't imagine that Ohio is any worse than this place. Mainly it comes down to how one spends his/her time.
I talked to one guy from Ohio, I know it's only one guy, but he did say that there are hotter women down south. Maybe it's just the warmer weather that sheds the clothes easier than liquor. I'm not knocking Ohio, but that just seems to be true.
I think some fans provoke SEC'ers, like MAINsur4, and others just try to stand up for their team.
Let's not count our eggs before they hatch too. It's a long way to the Orange Bowl for every team, and Ohio State will be a better team this year than last also.

Report Offensive CommentHere's how it goes:
A) Ohio State looks untouchable (2006-7 season) and Ohio State fans act like belligerent, bu++holes and talk more trash then a Waste Management CEO.
B) The sports nation tells the truth about Ohio State and their fans act like belligerent bu++holes as they are viewed as overrated.
Even if they barely win or get completely destroyed in the title games, they are going to behave like bu++holes...Even people in their own conference think they are jerks...So don't feel sorry for the Nuts; it's what goes around comes around :)

Maybe you can SECede from the rigors of NCAA-sanctioned football and start your own conference and then...and then...well...uh...um....uh....shucks, I don't know. Let's go get us some barbeque unless we have to barbeque it ourselves then we'll get us a Georgia boy to do that fo us since we don't know nothin' up here.

Report Offensive Commenthairgut the Dawg: How many bowl games (there are 32) are played in Big-10 states? Nine? Twenty-Eight? Nope...one: The Motor City Bowl in Detroit. Now, if there were some way we could switch the weather around and bowl locations so that Big-10 teams played remotely close to their home states, the results might be different, and history would have been kinder to them. However, the Rose, Orange and Sugar (the big 3) plus now the Fiesta Bowl are all in warm weather climes. This does make a difference, that's all I'm saying. And don't forget, Ohio State is 4-2 in BCS games, but you southern folk only remember the last two. If that were so paramount a figure, I'd sincerely give kudos to Michigan for running off a 13-1 record against Ohio State before WWI, and winning over 3 dozen games vs. high schools and non-collegiate institutions.
I would love to see regular season games between SEC/Big-10 schools in Home/Away series. That would be a much better showing of "speed" versus "cloud of dust" football, if you will. Until then, enjoy your home-field advantage, ice tea with sugar in it and tourism dollars from us Yankees.

Report Offensive CommentAll the Big 10 schools play games in the late summer, just like everyone else, and the temps get up in the 70's. It does not seem to bother them. Weather is just a disadvantage for a warm weather team, not vice versa. And the bowls allocate tickets equally between schools, so there is not a real home field advantage in those bowl games. You can just say "sweet tea" instead of "ice tea with sugar in it". The Yankee ad firms have picked up on that finally and are wearing us out with it on billboards.
hairgut the Dawg | 05/24/08, 04:32 PM
Report Offensive CommentThat's true about Big-10 schools playing in warm weather, except maybe into November. But my point is WHERE many of the bowl games are: Miami, New Orleans, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix. None of those cities are in Big-10 states and regardless of the weather, it's a home-field advantage for SEC & Pac-10 schools.
I love sweet tea, especially when it's in a glass next to my plate of smoked pulled pork and a mound of slaw, covered in mustard & vinegar.

Report Offensive CommentWhoever wrote the top piece, all I can say is "you gotta be kidding me". I've traveled quite a bit in Georgia but live in Ohio, and all I have to say is come to OSU sometime and walk around. If you think Georgia is a nicer place to live and/or has nicer looking women, you're high.
