No big news today, just a few quotes from Arsene about the season. To summarize, he was proud of how the boys came out strong out of the slump and the losses to Man U and Chelsea to finish four points off the pace.
There was an update on Eduardo's injury however. It is kind of depressing actually. He is ruled out completely until November. Arsene is confident he can recover, and is getting detailed daily reports from Sao Paulo on Eduardo's status.
As much as I like Eduardo as a striker, and I believe (and pray) he will recover, there is never any certainty with these injuries. We need a top top class striker, and i believe this need can only be satisfied by players like David Villa or Samuel Eto'o. Adeybayor needs to be sold in the next year or two, Van Persie plays better on the wing, and Vela and Walcott still need a few years. Arsenal has a good shot at the Prem next year, and with a more experienced squad we could win. However the only way to progress to the next level is to buy that top quality forward. Vela, Fabregas, Walcott, and van Persie all have plenty of time to win. Players like Gallas, Toure, Almunia, etc do not. The club owes these players a big player, a star. And with a big time forward we have a great shot at it.
