This home team dominance is getting out of hand.  Just when you think one team has the strategic edge and is dominating their opponent, they have to go play on the opponent's court and all roles reverse.

Tonight, the Magic have to travel to Detroit and try to stay alive in the series by accomplishing the toughest feat this postseason: winning on the road.  They are six point underdogs.  If I were a bettin' man, I would be too scared to bet that game at all.  I might look for a bet on an individual player or look to baseball for better action.

As for the Spurs and Hornets, we have the same problem.  The first two games in New Orleans looked like the Hornets might be on their way to an NBA title.  The last two games in San Antonio make you wonder how on earth the Hornets even made the playoffs.

I am not even talking about the blowout on the score board.  That could be explained sometimes by a hot shooting hand or some bad calls by officials.  I am referring to the actual play from one possession to the next.  The Hornets looked confident and assured in New Orleans.  In San Antonio, they looked confused and scared.

It is hard for me to believe that the fans can have that much affect, but maybe they do.  Maybe the deafening roar from the masses every time the home team does something positive is enough to make the road team lose their focus.

Whatever the reason, I wouldn't feel comfortable with the road team, but I wouldn't feel good going against the Spurs either.  I would look for a bet on the stats of Chris Paul and play for them to be really high, or I would wait for the next Celtics game and see what kind of line they get at home.

The Hornets Spurs game is going to be a classic. I feel it. I would be shocked if it were more than a 5 point win by the winning squad. If you are a betting man, put everything you have on the Pistons covering. A discouraged Magic squad has to go to Detroit with Chauncey Billups returning (I think) and try to stay alive in what will be a very hostile environments. I like the Pistons winning from 15-25 points tomorrow night.
