Well, after much publicity and hoopla, today is the day in which hopefully all the answers will be revealed about the New England Patriots Spygate case. Of course, as expected, this is what we got...

-- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he learned nothing new about the Spygate scandal after meeting with former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh for nearly 31/2 hours Tuesday.

The NFL released the tapes Walsh provided, and they didn't show any previously undisclosed rules violations. The clips cut between shots of opposing coaches sending in signals and the play that followed.

"The fundamental information that Matt provided was consistent with what we disciplined the Patriots for last fall," Goodell said at a news conference.

Whatever man. Do you really want the majority of people out here who have been out of the trees for just a little while to buy the garbage you're feeding us? Everyone knows the real coverup has already happened and if there were any "real" evidence, they would have been disposed of a long time ago. The truth of it all is that football is a business and while publicity keeps your name in the paper and on everyone's mind, too much bad publicity can have an even longer effect (see baseball - steriods, players strike, etc).

Yes commissioner, you do appear to be a little tougher than the previous commish on player infractions, but when you start playing with the real money.. er, power, then it becomes a new ball game. I guess this was just a time to punt after the penalty you handed down last fall and hope that we're all going to continue to buy the crap you call "ethical business practices". After all, it's just a game.. right?
