It's time to start believing in Matt Stairs.

If your league is like all of my other leagues, he's available!  Now that Vernon Wells is down, Matt Stairs is going to play full time.  It might be OF or DH, but he's going to play full time.  He's hitting .299 for the year with 4 home runs.  That was while he was splitting time with Shannon Stewart.  Last year Stairs hit 21 dingers, drove in 64 runs and hit a respectable .289.  If you team is without power or has an average in the .260's, pick him up!

Stay away from Greg Maddux.

Yes, he has games where he has an excellent WHIP (Vs Col 5/10: 6IP 3H 0BB, Vs SF 4/23: 7IP 4H 0BB, Vs LA 4/13: 5 IP 2 H 1BB, Vs SF 4/7: 7IP 3H 2BB).  But he has had just as many games where he's been blown up (Vs Fla 5/4: 5.2IP 11H 1BB 4ER 1HR, Vs Phi 4/29: 6.1IP 8H 1BB 3ER, Vs Ari 4/18: 7IP 13H 3BB 9ER 1HR, Vs Hou 4/2: 6IP 4H 3HR)  If you pick him up you risk setting your ERA and WHIP back a couple weeks.  Don't do it!  Don't let the 8BB in 50IP sway you.  When he's had bad outings, they've been really bad.  Let someone else take the chance, you'll thank me in the end.  Don't pick him up!
