Cup of Coffee 5/19 (Evening Edition)

I was browsing possible pitchers for tomorrow and saw some intreaguing matchups that you should know about:

1. Justin Masterson, Red Sox

Starts against the Royals.  His first start against a very good Angels team went better than anyone could have expected.  Went 6 IP had a 1.00WHIP and allowed just 1 run.  There's a good chance he's available in your league, and I advise that you go get him.  The Royals aren't nearly as good as the Angels, and if he does what I think he could do, and gets a chance to stay up with the team, you'll see him get gobbled up in a lot of leagues.  Get him now before the big rush.

2. Daniel Cabrera, Orioles

Starts against the Yankees.  Don't let the fact that it's the Yankees scare you.  He beat them already this year, and that was when they had A-Rod.  Now theres no Rodriguez, no Posada, and no momentum.  Hes coming of a win Vs the Red Sox, and I think he might be ripe one of those: right guy, right situation wins.

3. Aaron Cook, Rockies

Starts against the Giants.  If he still available in your league, make sure you have him for this start.  He was picked up by most teams a few starts ago, but if he's slipped through the cracks in your leage...get him!  He's the ace of the staff and its the Giants...No more need be said.

4. Jose Contreras, White Sox

Starts against the Indians.  I wouldn't be surprised if he has a good game here.  He's been pitching better this year, after it looked like he was done last year.  The Indians are sort of an all or nothing club.  If they get shut down, they really get blanked.  However, if they get it going, watch out.  Take a chance if you need the pitching.

Now, a couple guys I think you need to sit or stay away from tomorrow

I won't go into great detail but...

1. Greg Maddux, Padres

Vs. Cardinals: Too many games where he gets blown up, Cardinals are a good team that could be next on the list of teams that rocked Maddux

2. Glen Perkins, Twins

Vs. Rangers:  He looked ok in his last outing against the Blue Jays, but the Rangers have won 7 straight series' and have some hot bats.
