Los Angeles had an easy time sweeping the Cincinnati Reds, despite the absence of Rafael Furcal with a stiff back injury. However, the young star is expected to return from the Disabled List and appear in the Dodgers' line-up tonight. In other words, the Dodgers should witness a sudden surge in their offense production.
Furcal said, "the game is the same everywhere. If you're healthy you can play." The stellar shortstop decided against spending some time in the Minor Leagues as part of his rehabilitation process, and will thus return to the Dodgers' roster sooner than expected. This pivotal decision illustrates his genuine desire to win.
Derek Lowe will be the starting-pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In his last start, he unfortunately gave up seven runs in five innings of work. Sadly, the pitcher has not earned a win within the past month. Hopefully, however, he will be able to grab a win tonight against the Cardinals.
St. Louis will give the ball to Adam Wainwright, a 26-year-old pitcher from Georgia. Although the hurler has a nice sinking fastball, he posted a despicable 7.71 Earned-Run Average in the last eleven and two-thirds innings that he pitched. If the Dodgers can capitalize on his poor command of breaking pitches, then they may seize the Los Angeles victory and add to Wainwright's 2008 Earned-Run Average.
Several eminent sports websites cannot decide a clear victor in tonight's match-up. Dodger Sims predicts that the St. Louis Cardinals will be victorious. But, AccuScore, another reputable website that projects the outcomes of Major League Baseball games, believes that the Dodgers have a 59% chance of beating the Cardinals. It should be a spectacular game!
