Welcome to the seventh installment of Love it ? or Hate it ?..as usual we take a subject and tell you whether we love it or hate it..feel free to throw in your 2-cents.

The panel this week consists of Harry Callahan, i B4 e, It's All Mine!, Curly Lambeau, and PB42.

------------------------------------------

The first subject is Stump the Schwab.

------------------------------------------------------------

Curly: Hate it.

I don't know any of that crap, so it's like watching anything else that I could never do except without the excitement. ...like boxing without the punching.

Just two big dudes staring at each other and kinda' shuffling around the ring. Or like the PGA without the golfing. Or like chess without the... okay, scratch that last one. Pretty much just like chess.

-----------------------------------------

i B4 e: Hate it.

I don't have a clue who this bozo is, but he looks like someone I would hate if I knew him.

---------------

Harry: Hate it.

It's the same premise they have with shows like "Wheel of fortune" and "Who want's to be a millionaire".

They want people trying to guess the answer at home..and to say it OUTLOUD !!!..to impress anyone in the immediate area..whether your wrong or right...usually wrong in my case but i have been known to get on a roll...okay ah' moving on.

When you have questions like "Who was the Pirates pitcher in the 1909 World Series ?" i'm out..seeya !!

I can just see a 109 year old Pirates fan on his Pat Summerall vouched for "Craftmatic adjustable Lazy-Boy" yelling at the T.V. and saying.."It's "Babe Adams"..you nimrod..I WAS THERE !!"

-------------------------------------

It's All Mine!: Hate it.

I watched it once, thinking that I would be able to compete, or at least make a showing. But when I was slapped down, embarrassed, and humiliated, I decided that I HATE THAT SHOW!

The only advantage to knowing who struck out Barge McGiveaway in game 3 of the 1929 World Series, would be if you had your own TV show, to show off said knowledge. How many shows are there like THAT? Hmm?

-------------------------------------

PB42: Hate it.

"Comic book guy" from the Simpsons comes to mind when I think of Stump the Schwab.

To have the repertoire of sports knowledge this guy has makes me question how he could be gainfully employed before he got his own game show.

-----------------

The second subject is White Castle hamburgers.

----------------------------------------------------

i B4 e: Love them.

LOVE IT!!!! With two snaps up and a twist.
Whitecastle rocks! I can't get enough of them. If the last meal I ever eat is 2 bags of Whitecastles, I'll die a happy man.

-------------------------

Harry: Love and sorta hate afterwards.

It's one of those things that you know your going to pay for later...but partake in anyway.

These.. i think are how the term Gut-Bomb came into play.

If you ever find yourself misplaced too far from a White Castle..they have them in the freezer section of your grocery store..don't be a sucker..they taste awful.

----------------------------

It's All Mine!: Love them.

White Castle Hamburgers? SLIDERS? I LOVE THEM! I'd marry them if I lived in California!

Give me one right now, or I'm gonna hold my breath, and then you'd feel really bad that you didn't.

---------------------------

Curly: Hate them.

Hate them bigtime. Do you know they're actually made partially from cardboard? True story.

---------------

PB42: Indifferent.

I've never had White Castle in my life. They look good to eat when you're: A) drunk B) stoned or C) both A & B. However, it looks like it tastes good going down but leaves in a not-so-great way.

-------------------------------------

The third subject is playing pool.

---------------------------------------------

i B4 e: Love it.

I love pool and I bet I could kick any Pier members ass at it, except maybe BS.

When I was stationed in Jacksonville I played in weekly tournaments at a local bar.

I played pool all the time. I would even watch it when it came on TV. In all honesty, I doubt I could beat Jeanette Lee.

-------------------------

Harry: Love it.

I grew up with 3 brothers so we had all the requisite sporting goods all over the place.

We had a B-ball net out back..ping-pong table in the basement..pool table in the den..so i eventually became pretty adept at all of them.

Nowadays.. i usually get progressively worse the more beers i drink and just get aggravated and get whipped.

Also never play anyone for money that carries their own cue in a velvet lined case with their initials enblazoned in gold on it...that always spells doom.

-----------------------------

Curly: Love it.

"Ya got trouble, my friend, right here,
I say, trouble right here in River City.
Why sure I'm a billiard player,
Certainly mighty proud I say
I'm always mighty proud to say it.
I consider that the hours I spend
With a cue in my hand are golden.
Help you cultivate horse sense
And a cool head and a keen eye".

Nah, I like pool. I'm pretty dog-gone bad at it, but I like it. Even if it is...

Trouble with a capital "T"
And that rhymes with "P" and that stands for pool!

------------------------------

It's All Mine!: Love it.

I used to play a lot more than I do these days, and wasn't too bad at it.

I ask the FN: When you've had a few beers--approaching "the line", but not crossing it--can you "see" the angles you're shooting for better than when cold sober? I can.

I bet I could whip iB4e's butt when I...nevermind, I ain't goin' there!

----------------------------

PB42: Hate it.

I stink at it, but I admit I only hate it because I stink at it.

What perplexes me, is having been in a pool hall once (pool hall in the sense that there are more than 3 tables) is how many people both go to them and how many people have their own sticks.

-----------------------------------------

And the fourth and final subject is magicians Penn and Teller.

------------------------------------------------

Curly: Hate them.

I used to think they were funny, but now they've gotten too much into their causes.

It's like they're knocking on the door of the Brights' club saying "please, may we come in?

...or at least look around a bit and perhaps try out your restrooms?"

----------------------

Harry: Love them.

I think they rock..but Penn..the big one... can start to grate on you with his booming voice.

They even have an adult show on Showtime called "Penn and Teller's Bull...." which is laugh out loud funny.

I would pay to see these guys if i was in Vegas..as opposed to that Slash looking weirdo.. Mindfreak.

---------------------------------------

i B4 e: Love them.

I know a lot of people don't but I think they are hilarious. How many of you can name the rap video that they were in? (I can)

------------------------------------

It's All Mine!: Used to love them..now hate them.

I'm with Curly--I found them very entertaining, and appreciated their wit and humor, like, 15 years ago.

But since then, Penn has gone down this road of politics and opinions, and that just turns me off.

Teller, now...since he never talks, he doesn't annoy me as much. I think Penn must keep him locked up in the basement until showtime.

Therefore, I feel the need to protect him from Penn. Can I say that I love Teller, and hate Penn?

--------------------------------

PB42: Abstain.

I only know that they were comedians (or are they magicians?) but never saw an act on TV or live. They look annoying though.

---------------------------------

Well that's it folks..we hope you liked it..if not..as always..we could give a crap.

------------------------------------------------------------

This has been a Pier-11 production.
