So The Lakers win and advace to The Finals congratualtaions Lakers and Laker fans all over ! As for the Spurs nothing but a long vacation slash wait til' Mid October, but believe it or not to the dismay of Laker Nation the world is still spinning and remarkably the sun is still out and shining in "BEAUTIFUL" San Antonio. The improvements San Antonio needs make are perfectly obvious, but making these changes and successfully implementing them into San Antonio's complex game planning is not going to be half as easy as distinguishing them. Timmy and Tony were hitting on all six cylinders for the majority of the two series, Timmy avg. 14.5 Rbs. and 20.2 pts. and shooting for 44% not to metion he double doubled in 15 of 17 playoff games, while Tony was the paint presence we need going for 22.4 and shooting 49% with 6.1 ass. per game  which does not seem to eyepopping but what he can do in the paint opens up so much of S.A.'s offensive game he is an extremely valuable commodity to the team, but having to go seven games in New Orleans and to advance past L.A. having the thought of having to go another seven games was simply too much and frankly demoralizing to the older more battle tested Spurs. Fresh young legs who can not only come into a game and provide much needed bench points for S.A., but to more importantly be able to fit in and help fortify Pop's stellar defensive schemes he uses to near perfection almost on a daily basis, are what S.A. needs if they are to move past the younger ,quicker teams that seem to be popping up all over the Western Division. In the N.O's and L.A. series the older bench guys who in the past were able to light up the score board looked like they were putting up prayers when trying to hit key shots at key moments, BIG Shot ROB looked more like NO Shot ROB at times, and Barry and Finley also showed their true ages and dimishing skill sets in the L.A. series missing shots they would have been able to knock down with ease a couple of seasons ago. The drop off from the big three of S.A. to their bench and pretty much all else on the team was horrendous the bottom of the big three's pts. p/g was 17.7 from Manu, then like stocks on a bad day they fall all the way down to 6.7 for Finley and lessa s go further down the line, nope that's not going to cut it at all. Yes a younger and more talented bench behind Timmy, Tony, Fabricio and Manu would tremendoulsy improve S.A.'s chances of ever getting to another FINALS in this ever so improving Western Conference. The problem is those kind of young athletic defensive minded players don't exactly grow on trees to be picked whenever desired especially for S.A. who is seemingly forever in the Playoffs if not winning the whole darn thing, low draft picks have not helped in the past and will not help S.A. this off season, no magic wand to wave or wish to turn in, here back in reality it's going to take some keen knowledge of the game and great world wide scouting which The Spurs are known for, just look at Manu and Fabricio and that other French guy, yeah you get it, they can find diamonds in the rough everywhere, and anywhere in the world they may be. So this off season while we are all eye-ball deep in the NFL and NCAA Football, there will without a doubt be some intense foraging going on around this globe somewhere by Spurs Scouts, we just have cross our fingers hope and wait that they can come up with that someone from somewhere who can help rejuvinate this great team that seems to be getting older with every second that passes by.
