DISCLAIMER: Those that know of me know I am a TD'er and not really a blogger (despite being an aspiring writer, go figure, blogging is definitely an acquired skill)
Damn, take a ride to my block,
My block, thats right! Heh
F'real on my mutherfuckin block
Okay so its common knowledge that Tupac and Biggie are 1-A and 1-B when it comes to being the greatest rappers of our (or any other) time. The debate will rage on forever who is better but that isnt the purpose of this blog.
While there are good rappers out there in the landacape of Hip Hop today and while I personally like the beat of Soldier Boy, this doesnt pass or shouldnt pass for music or rap today.
What I think is IF these 2 were still alive, they would still be among the greatest and best rappers out there. Tupac's lyrics still have a lot of meaning today from the war in Iraq to teen pregnancy of african american teens (Brenda got a Baby).
While I am not as familiar with Biggie I still think he would be right there with Pac because he was a HEAVYWEIGHT in rap in every sense of the word.
Check the pain I inflict, like a convict, the Fulton digger
Jump in the Acura Vigor, after I stick ya
Rip ya like a Razor, straight up Henny with no chaser
These 2 rappers may not have invented it but they revolutionized it, and ruined it for these rappers today to even try and compete in the same genre as they 2 legendary lyricists....Because there is more to rap and Hip Hop than cash, guns, rims, women and.....Ya'all know where I was going, the place you wanna be at when the mood is right, the lights are low and the alcohol is kicking in

Rap is at a very low place now in my opinion. I loved Tupac he was greatness and have very little interest in anything I hear come out from rappers nowadays.

Nick, I suggest that you start listening to Lupe Fiasco, Common, and the Flobots. They have meaningful lyrics if that's what your looking for.

From someone who aspired to be that Fulton digger (and my pops used to have an AC Vigor) I say good blog.
I still say Biggie is 1-A but hey, I am from BK.

We will always have that Biggie and Pac freestyle from MSG and the Eminem produced track Runnin'. I think if they were alive their beef would have ended and they would have made a REAL (none of that FAKE Jigga and Kelly BS) Best Of Both Worlds Album. I can just imagine those two just destroying cats with bars of pure viciousness.

Now Deathrow records is up for sale which has Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, and the big players in buying them (and their tracks for that matter) is Diddy and Jay Z.
I find it interesting with how close Diddy and Biggie were and they were enemies of 2pac, but i am sure it was for show.

"I was born rough & rugged, addressing the mad public, my attitude's phuck it, muthaphukas love it!"...Ambitionz of a Ridah, 2PAC.
I certainly did love it. Tupac was THE BEST. I really don't know how people mention Biggie in the same breath but, to each is own. Igotta run and take my youngest to his baseball game. I will certainly return to this 'cause I'm an OG when it comes to Hip Hop & Rap music. Does "Rock this funky joint!" by the Poor Righteous Teachers bring back memories?

Ambitionz of A Ridah is HARD.
Cam'ron does it some justice on Live My Life (Ambitionz of A Killah) on his Come Home With Me album.

In my OPINION it wasn't even close PAC IS King of Rap. What does 50 say, I want them to love me like they love PAC.....
Biggie had nice beats and his voice was nice....but PAC was unreal.

Good blog. Wish Tupac was still alive. (I think he is, but I can't prove it. He releases an album every year!)

"Polish your pistols, prepare for battle, pass the pump..." If I Die Tonight, 2PAC.
One of many gems off that Me Against The World album. How about Pete Rock & CL Smooth. I loved Straighten Out, T.R.O.Y: When they Reminisce Over You and The Basement. In my car for the past few days I've been rockin' Gangstarr's Step In The Arena. The Execution of a Chump, Precisely the Right Rhymes are my favorites off that joint. Man, I have so much Hip Hop & Rap music stored in my memory.

Pac did way more than BIG and had way more substance. Hip hop is okay right now. You have to look for the real and not rely on radio bs.
See at night I watch the sky
