This post is in response to an article on Newsday.com where a contigency of people led by George Herman Ruth's granddaughter is trying to get the Babe's number 3 retired from all of baseball. Tell me if you agree or disagree by leaving a response. Thank you.

Horse stuff. What is wrong with those people? I know people love Babe Ruth but was he really a role model for anyone. He drank and smoke. He slept around, he was arrogant, conceited, self centered, and most of all a Caucasian player in an era of all Caucasian baseball players. Go ahead and retire Ichiro's number now being the most prominent Asian born ball player in ours or any era. Clemente should have his number retired over Ruth. The man died while flying to help people in foreign country. He was all that Ruth wasn't. He was about other people, he was well respected by all as being a loving father, husband, and teammate. Do you see the difference here? I know I do. Jackie Robinson faced bigotry and hate far beyond what most of us could even begin to imagine. What did the Babe fight? Some blonde floozy who wanted him for extra innings. If Babe's number is retired baseball itself should begin to look at what image they are trying to portray. Not a good on especially after the whole steroid debacle. Think about it.

blog started by a person with the mental capacity of a seedless grape, and that is giving the grape some credit. He saved baseball, get it? Read your baseball history before you start this crap. 1919 Black Sox scandal (I know you will throw a race card in that) ring a bell? No, I didn't think so, you don't know crap about it. Things weren't going so well after that, game was on the brink. So take your racist attitude and blog football, we don't need ya here. While I think of it, when Ichiro's numbers are about a tenth as good, yea, maybe consider retiring his number. Now go back to sleep

HOF, retired jersey numbers, these are done for accomplishments made on the field (sorry Pete, this may take awhile for most of these beat writers to get). Alas, another history lesson, see that of Ty Cobb.
