Mike Vanderjagt has finally come home. Nicknamed the "Idiot Kicker" thanks to Peyton Manning and "VanderJERK" by Rodney Harrison, signed with the CFL Toronto Argos over the weekend and had his 1st practice for the upcoming CFL season on Sunday. The 38 year old Oakville (a Toronto sub-burb) native started his pro football career in the CFL in 1993-97 for Toronto before spending 9 years in the NFL with the Colts and Cowboys. He has not been in pro football since he was cut by the Cowboys at the end of November in the 2006.

This make a busy offseason for the Argos as last week Damon Allen (Pro Football's Career Pasing Leader) retired from Football after 23 seasons in the CFL. The Argos have also signed former NFLers David Boston and Bethel Johnson for the upcoming season.
You know it's a slow sports day when I'm writing about the CFL!

Vanderjagt had 42 straight successful FGs until he shanked one in Foxboro in September 2004. BTW, when Peyton called him the idiot kicker he was talking out of his **** because Vanderjagt's criticisms were the truth - Peyton was soft at the time.
