Born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on 19 January 1974, United Captain Jaime Moreno entered his 12th season in a DC uniform in 2008. At present, Moreno has also played 11 years as a member of the Bolivian National Team(did not play from 2001-2006) having earned 72 career Caps. Moreno is 9th on the all time list of appearences for Bolivia, having gotten his first national cap at the age of 18. Jamie is with out a doubt the center piece, if not the face itself of the DC franchise. In the world of futbol.....he's"been there,done that",with outstanding results. Moreno has etched a name for himself as one of the greatest Major League Soccer players in history. DC United has won The MLS Cup a record four times... 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2004 with Moreno having been on the pitch all four times. He was the MLS top goal scorer in 1997 and 1998, netting 16 balls both years and coming away with 11 assists in 98. Although becoming injury plagued during the 2001,2002 and 2003 seasons, a strict training regimen has helped him avoid injury problems since. On 19 May 2007, Moreno scored his 108th career goal on a penalty kick against Toronto FC, tieing Jason Kreis's MLS record. Soon afterwards came his 109th goal in a match against the New York Red Bulls, making him the most prolific goal scorer in league history. In 2008 Moreno coninues to add to his record. Right now he's the leading scorer for DC with 4 goals and has 116 lifetime.
