Running away from PETA

Giddye-up In the race for the Triple Crown, Big Brown's quarter crack in his hoof is healing nicely. In fact, although he has sustained several injuries, Big Brown is favored to be the first horse since 1978 and 12th Triple crown champion. PETA is sticking its nose onto the horse track. Their beef with horse racing is the heinous and barbaric act of "racing these animals to death", as one of the PETA protesters sign indicated. Similar to Michael Vick and his dogfighting ring, the breeders dope the animals, those of failed horses slaughter the beast with little regret. There's no mercy in finishing second place. Alas maybe there's hope for Vick because Big Brown still has sponsors; but don't call it a comeback. Call it a victory lap.
