Originally from Baltimore. Been playin' lacrosse since '87. Played all through college and still do in the ALL (American Lacrosse League) "WAKE UP THE ECHOES" NOTRE DAME FOREVER!!! Outside the Ravens AFCN rivalry w/ the Steelers, I respect their loyal fanbase (which, outside of the Pitts. area, consists alot of people who jumped on the 4 superbowl bandwagon back in the 70's (just like alot of cowboy, niner, and raiders fans have) and then on for the fifth title. Or they moved away from Pittsburgh when the steel mills started to close and had to look for work elsewhere but kept their ties to the team and city. As long as Steeler fans are originally from or live in or near PA and/or near Pittsburgh and/or have a real reason why they're Steeler fans (no, the 5 SB wins is not an acceptable reason bandwagoners like Cassidy!!!) i can deal w/ them unless they're cocky/arrogant/ smug people because of their teams successes, which alot of them are, but at least they've won something, unlike the Bengirls whose fans act as if their team has been good for a while (good must = 8 winning seasons in the past 40 yrs) and haven't just bought their ocho-sucko jerseys (yea right, every Bengal jersey and hat i've seen the past 4 years has been so new the tags were still on it.) I do respect the Steeler organization and what they've accomplished. I would hope we can get some respect, if not now, maybe in the future when we accomplish more as an organization and have, you know, 75 years of history under our belts like they do. I don't however buy the "Steeler Country" crap you see at every stadium they play at. Most of their fans don't travel; they already live in that city! What's funny is that after they won title #5 all these people that I knew came out as Steeler fans. People who never, ever spoke about the Steelers or Pittsburgh, or even wore black and gold for that matter were like "oh yea, i'm from near Pittsburgh" or "the steelers have always been my favorite team..." etc. (cue eye roll). Yea buddy, huge coincidence that the day after the super bowl is the first time I hear you're a Pittsburgh fan, right ?. There are only Steeler fans in MD because when the Colts left they refused to be Eagle or Redskin fans. Like when they lost to Denver last year, all those "steeler country" signs in the crowd. I even saw a steeler fan with one that read: "NBC= Not Broncos Country". How stupid is that ? You're gonna say that Denver is NOT Bronco country? That's so stupid; and they wonder why so many other teams fanbases hate their fans so darn much.
